Tomango creates beautiful brands and industry-leading websites for ambitious businesses across the UK. Our studio is based in a stunning rural location approximately 5 minutes from Lewes and 20 minutes from Brighton.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing company and become part of our digital/creative team, and would suit a Junior Designer who's ready to step up to the next level.

This role is being advertised as full-time or part-time, or somewhere in between.

Job Description:

This role has great potential and is ideal for an experienced but ambitious designer looking to play a pivotal role in the development of the business. You will be working closely with key clients and other lead personnel in the company and will be expected to make a significant contribution to Tomango’s creative output.

• Liaising with key clients, you’ll be responsible for creating the design brief or identifying the scope of the project
• Working directly with the Creative Director, you will be responsible for the creation of original design concepts for web, print and offline collateral
• Your role will include presenting design concepts to clients and managing feedback
• You will be responsible for creating the design assets our developers need to build a complete website, and will work closely with them during the development process
• You’ll also be responsible for designing other areas of the brand rollout, both online and offline
• As part of our Project Management team, you’ll help ensure projects are completed on time and on budget
• You’ll help out with making visual changes to existing websites, where appropriate

Skills Range:

• Fully competent in Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Acrobat
• Experience using Sketch for web-builds and prototype design
• Proven commercial experience in a similar role
• Excellent written, visual and verbal communication
• Excellent attention to detail, especially spelling and grammar
• Experience using CMS platforms such as WordPress

It would also be to your advantage to have:

• An understanding of HTML, CSS and responsive design
• Basic knowledge of SEO
• Experience using WordPress or other, similar CMS
• HTML for email and experience using an email service platform
• Social media marketing knowledge

Person Specification:

You’ll be a passionate designer that strives for excellence and continual improvement, but you’ll already have the highest standards of quality and delivery, outstanding communication skills and be comfortable working under pressure.

You may have been working as a Junior Designer for a little while and want to step up to the next level.

• Minimum two years’ commercial experience is essential
• Strong, proven portfolio of work
• Client account management or project management experience
• Methodical and practical approach
• Customer/results focused
• Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure, and capable of handling the administration and paperwork associated with the job
• Ability to work to tight deadlines, while producing accurate, technically correct work to a high standard
• Proactive, motivated and able to work on own initiative and within a team
• Willingness to learn and develop professionally
• Good sense of humour
• Own transport required
