IMEX Group delivers two vibrant trade shows each year for the global meeting and events industry. IMEX in Frankfurt and IMEX America (Las Vegas) each attract around 15,000 participants.
Our shows facilitate face-to-face business meetings between exhibitors (who include international hotel chains, convention bureaux, destination management companies and tech providers) and meeting and event planners.
Every show also features professional, free education and numerous networking and co-located events run by our global partner network. This means our IMEX shows have become must-attend events for anyone working in the meeting and events industry.

Job Description:

Role Overview:

To research and develop a variety of educational events for the IMEX Group, including overseeing such events from start to finish. To bring research and development knowledge back to the Knowledge and Events and Marketing teams to ensure that insights are incorporated into the overall IMEX educational programmes and marketing.
This role will work extensively within the business events industry and with IMEX partners in the development and management of such programmes. As such, extensive research skills are required, as well as the ability and desire to keep abreast of industry developments and news to ensure content is attractive to the desired audiences.
This role will also have the ability to source speakers from both within and outside the business events industry.

Educational Content Development:

Development of new educational programmes for delivery at IMEX shows, to include:

Market Research & Analysis – In-depth phone-based and desk research of key subject areas and hot topics within the business events sector and related sectors. Identifying the target audience and finding out what they want / need to know. Identify specific topics for educational programmes.
• Liaising with marketing team to ensure programmes are all updated on the website.

Speaker Acquisition and Management – Identifying high-level, influential experts to speak at the event and managing their attendance at the event.

Copy Writing – Writing copy in the form of a conference programme, in the language of your target audience. Liaise with internal marketing team to ensure that all sales-driven materials such as web, direct mail and email copy will maximise delegate attendance

Project Management – Working with all internal teams to ensure the success of the programmes

Onsite Attendance – Attending IMEX and other events to ensure excellent delivery and smooth running of the educational programmes; to include assisting other team members with the delivery of the overall knowledge and events programme.

Knowledge development – develop knowledge and assist with existing IMEX educational programmes

Team Duties – assisting the Knowledge and Events team, where required, with the successful delivery of IMEX educational and events programmes

Partner Programme Management:

Management of partner-led educational programmes, including franchised Future Leaders Forums (FLFs). This will include:
o Partner liaison and contract management
o Ensuring quality and brand compliance of such FLFs
o Checking programmes of such FLFs

Responsibility for delivery of IMEX managed FLFs, including:
o Development of programmes, in line with agreed format
o Speaker acquisition and management
o Partner event liaison and contract management
o Evaluation of programmes
o Relationship management of Universities and sourcing of students
o Liaison with MPI to ensure management of the University Challenge

 
Person Specification:

About you:

• Minimum of 2 years curating educational content within a commercial conference or exhibition organiser environment. This should include researching, planning and management of such educational conferences/ events from inception to delivery.
• Must be able to travel abroad when required for business purposes
• Attention to detail

• Ability to multi-task
• Outstanding time-management skills
• Outstanding communication skills
• Proven research and conference content development skills
• Proven conference planning and management skills
• Good writing ability (the ability to write the conference agenda)
• Not a must but nice to have University Degree, BA level, 2.1 or above
