Bright Interactive is an established software development agency based in central Brighton. We develop dynamic and intelligent software applications and websites that help businesses thrive. We are specifically seeking a confident & skilled Java developer who is happy to work with an established codebase and will be keen to take on responsibility for the development & maintenance of our flagship digital asset management product, Asset Bank.

Asset Bank helps brand managers and marketers all over the world organise, control and share their digital assets. It is the core of our business, and we work with over 700 clients including IKEA, ITV, Coca-Cola, and Unicef. Supporting and improving Asset Bank as a product is critical to our success and as such the successful candidate needs to have a strong motivation to deliver excellence for our customers.

Key Areas of Responsibility

Initially the primary responsibilities of the role will include working on improvements to Asset Bank, providing support and fixing issues along with new feature development both within the product itself and as add on micro-services.

As your career progresses with us opportunities to work on exciting new technologies for our custom development clients and next generation DAM platform will become available.

You’ll ideally have skills and proven experience in the following technologies:

  • Java
  • Spring, Struts
  • JSP, Freemarker
  • SQL
  • AWS, Jenkins
  • Javascript

Ideally, you will also have:

  • A real appreciation of clean, well-tested, well-documented code
  • Excellent debugging and code refactoring skills
  • An understanding of agile development practices
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A customer-focused approach

Salary: Salary depending on experience range £40k - £65k + company profit share
