Job Description:

Make Real is looking to expand our newly formed internal R&D team with a developer to join our designer and artist, to build and explore emerging technology concepts.

Covering a wide range of sectors, we produce industry-leading Virtual Reality / Augmented Reality / Mixed Reality creative solutions for some of the largest organisations and the world's most reputable brands, including EDF Energy, Vodafone, McDonald’s and many more.

You’ll need to provide a series of experiments, exploratory research findings, prototypes and demonstrators across the range of emerging immersive technologies and core concepts we’re focusing on, including machine learning, AI, eye-tracking, multi-user interactions and many more factors beyond.

This is a great opportunity to get involved in our growing emphasis on ensuring that Make Real is the leader in technology development and solutions that meet the needs of our current and future clients and partners.

Day to day:

  • Work closely with the other Drawing Board team members to determine effective and agile approaches to rapid prototyping of concepts
  • Feed into P.A.T (Project Assessment Tool) scoring for potential ideas of focus
  • Develop immersive technology prototypes, demonstrators and concepts
  • Carry out research into specific tools and tech related to ongoing company focus within our two key strands of ‘learning & development, training and simulation’ and ‘games, out-of-home and entertainment’ experiences
 
Skills Range:
  • A portfolio of relevant work (deployed or conceptualised)
  • Forward thinking and practical experience of delivering polished MVP applications
  • Time management skills and ability to work to deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and as a team, self-managing tasks effectively
  • Competencies in the usual Microsoft programs e.g. Word, Excel, etc.
  • Competencies of online task management tools e.g. Trello / JIRA etc
  • Experience with Unity (C#) and/or Unreal (C++)
  • Experience of HTML5 / React / WebXR a bonus
  • Experience developing for full VR headsets (Oculus Rift / HTC Vive etc)
  • Experience developing for mobile VR (Google Daydream / Oculus Go etc)
  • Experience developing for headset AR (Hololens / Meta2.0 / Magic Leap etc)
  • Experience developing for mobile AR (Vuforia / ARKit / ARCore etc)
 
Person Specification:
  • Excited and motivated to continually develop rapid prototypes and concepts across a range of experiences
  • Ability to balance functionality and polish within small timeframes
  • Ability to self-lead and manage own task estimates
  • Versatile and quick thinking with an inquisitive mind
  • Self-motivated
