Artworker and Assistant to the Head of Creative
Head Office, Eastbourne
3 Month Fixed Term Contract
37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5pm
Head Office, Eastbourne

Circa £18,000 - £20,000 (pro rata for contract)

We are looking for an artworker to work with our in-house design team and also assist the Head of Creative. This role will be based at our Head Office which is within walking distance from Eastbourne train station and the Beacon centre but will also involve nationwide travel.

This role sits within a busy team that supports a network of over 170 independent decorators’ merchant stores nationwide, plus online trade. The role is fundamentally an artworking role but also requires someone with a practical, enthusiastic mind who can turn their hand to anything. This is not a design role but does require someone with an interest in design.

The Role
• Working with the Head of Creative on signing projects, developing individual branch schemes and creating final artwork to supply to manufacturers.
• Visiting branches to undertake an initial survey prior to assessing sign needs.
• Handling a basic level of photography.
• Working with the in-house design team to take design concepts to final artwork. This is principally 2D print work but also involves a degree of animation for use on social media.
Skills we are looking for:
• Strong retouching and visualisation skills
• An understanding of print production
• Expert ability in Adobe Creative Suite; specifically InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and After Effects.
• Good layout and typographical skills
• Confident working with Apple Macs
• Good communication skills
• Ability to work under close instruction
• Strong organisational skills
• Meticulous attention to detail
• Ability to work well to deadlines
• Self motivated
• Previous experience in a similar / allied role
• A clean driving license
• A good standard of written English
• Friendly, flexible team player.
