DEPT: PRODUCT

REPORTING TO: HEAD OF PRODUCT

WORKING WITH: All departments at head office (product, technical, marketing, design, operations, finance, sales & customer relations), warehouse team, spa team, training & events team, suppliers and contract manufacturers

KEY OBJECTIVES

Responsible for supporting the Product team in product development, brand building and liaising with manufacturers to deliver NPD on time and to budget
To provide administrative and project management assistance to the NPD team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT
• Provide high level of detailed administrative support and assistance to the Head of Product in developing new product concepts, formulations and packaging across multiple projects
• Manage suppliers and manufacturers to maintain CPA
• Manage production standards process
• Assist with the sourcing of components and maintaining an awareness of innovation in packaging trends
• Maintain long-term relationships with key suppliers
• Assist, and in some cases manage, the development of gifting and promotional items requirements across channels
• Coordinate press & marketing samples, ensuring these are available on time from suppliers and available for photography as required

MARKET RESEARCH
• Maintain an awareness of trend drivers, competitor launches and beauty news
• Source competitor samples
• Attend industry trade shows and conduct raw material/packaging research for existing and future developments
• Carry out regular competitor analysis and trend reports to identify emerging trends / ideas

ARTWORK MANAGEMENT
• Prepare clear and comprehensive copy and artwork briefs
• Manage new and existing packaging artwork briefs with the external artworker
• Proof reading all artworks
• Manage artwork library ensuring Product files are kept up to date

ADMINISTRATION & PRODUCT INFORMATION
• Support the Head of Product to ensure that all testing is completed on time before product launch, and that technical files are stored in Product files
• Support the Spa Marketing Assistant in ensuring up to date technical files and company statements are available on the Spa Hub
• Generate and manage internal sign-off of Product and Web pages
• Generate pack-off standard and guidelines for warehouse team

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
• Passion for cosmetics/skincare is a must
• 2+ years experience in a similar NPD role within a beauty brand or FMCG business
• Project management and understanding of NPD cycle is essential
• Ability to work within margins with knowledge of how cost effects RRP's
• Extremely organised and thorough with the ability to support and manage projects in a structured fashion, showing attention to detail, good judgement and problem solving abilities
• Effective prioritisation and multi-tasking skills
• Excellent communication skills with peers, external parties and senior management
• Strong team player with ability to listen, support, contribute and influence
• Proactive self-starter, able to work flexibly, under pressure and comfortable with productive change
