We’re BrightLocal, a Brighton-based Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) company that helps local businesses improve their SEO and online marketing performance. Since the company was formed in 2009, we’ve been growing consistently, year-on-year, and today our products are used by over 5,000 businesses and agencies around the world.

Whenever we ask our customers how we can add more value, one of the most common answers we hear is “education”. 

Education on how to master our products to achieve their goals.

Education on how to become an expert in local marketing.

Education on how to win new clients and grow their agencies.

This is where you come in.

We’re looking for a marketer with exceptional writing abilities to own our educational content marketing strategy. Big plans are already in place; we hope you can make it a reality.

 

What you’ll be doing:

  • Devising and launching the Brightlocal Academy – an online training platform that prospects and customers will use to become experts in local marketing and master our products.

  • Creating educational articles for the BrightLocal Academy – firstly by drawing from the knowledge within the business, and eventually by building up your own expertise in local marketing.

  • Collaborating with industry experts to create content that covers advanced local marketing tactics.

  • Experimenting with different content formats, such as video and online quizzes, to help us find creative ways to engage and educate our customers.

  • Measuring the ongoing impact of educational content to understand what’s popular and what’s helping drive product adoption.

Skills and experience we’d like:

  • 3+ years of customer, content or product marketing experience
  • Exceptional content writing skills
  • Strong project management skills
  • Good knowledge of SEO
  • Experience writing educational content and product how-to guides

 

Bonus skills and experiences:

  • Knowledge of local SEO 
  • Experience building an online training platform
  • Experience working in a SaaS business
  • Video production and editing experience
