Learning Designer (Freelance)

Role summary

Learning designers are an essential part of a multidisciplinary team. They add value to their teams through their talent for creative writing, grammatical accuracy and ability to quickly get their head around complex subject matter and transform it into engaging copy.

Day-to-day, you’ll:

  • Transform dense, technical content into concise, pithy, engaging copy
  • Wireframe interactions that match those proposed in concept documents
  • Script compelling and believable dialogue in video scripts
  • Work closely with our clients to gather and refine learning content
  • Interpret raw and sometimes disjointed source content
  • Regularly update relevant project team on your progress
  • Interpret technical, sometimes dense source content
  • Take ownership over your own work
  • Edit your work based on colleague and client feedback
  • Attend workshops where you’ll take notes and contribute ideas

 

As an individual, you’ll have:

  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Keen attention to detail
  • A drive to check and improve your own work
  • An ability to manage your own time and meet deadlines
  • A knack for distilling complex, jargon-heavy material into clear, concise content
  • A talent for telling stories that bring otherwise dull subject matter to life
  • Confidence using MS office-based tools, particularly PowerPoint
  • A willingness to embrace new technology and tools
  • Resilience to work in an agile and fast-paced agency environment
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Positive attitude toward receiving and implementing feedback
  • Courage to ask questions and raise concerns as sooner rather than later
  • An interest in modern, web-based design
  • A passion for learning new things and an interest in how large companies operate
