As a global pop culture events and media business, ReedPop has an extensive stable of respected editorial websites and video channels. These range from mainstream videogame brands to more specialist sites dedicated to PC gaming and board games. Our success has come from creating authoritative, trusted content for global audiences, whether that be via written word or video, or across any of our digital or live events.  

As part of our continued focus on creating credible and valuable editorial, we are looking for Video Producers to work directly with our editorial teams and deliver on-site video content tailored to two of our most high profile sites; Eurogamer and VG247.

Focused on video that is published directly on each site, the successful applicant will work as part of the editorial team to generate ideas, script, produce and edit video content that will appeal to our committed and demanding audiences. The Video Producer should be in tune with the games, hardware and priorities of our gaming communities and instinctively know how to deliver video that supplements and enhances the written word content that we publish. While experience or knowledge of YouTube and other video platforms is welcome, a focus on video that is delivered directly alongside our website content will be key, and this position does not include regular work with existing YouTube teams and channels.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Creating and managing video content and assets for either Eurogamer or VG247 websites, reporting to the site Editor-in-Chief and the Senior Editor, Commercial Content
  • Creating high-quality video in a variety of editorial formats (eg how-to, gameplay preview, community showcase) which enrich our articles and drive readers to view
  • Engaging with the site’s audience in a way that fits with its unique tone and voice.
  • Working to an agreed schedule and producing content on time and to budget, ensuring a balanced schedule that meets the needs of the site’s output.
  • Video editing, camera operation, script writing, recording voice over and/or pieces to camera, producing assets in photoshop and other relevant programs (e.g. After Effects)
  • Publishing via our CMS on to the site, and occasionally to other platforms as required
  • Liaising with the industry to obtain access to software/hardware and cultivate relationships.
  • Travel as required, maintaining good relationships with publishers and developers.
  • Act as a key contact for editorial and external contacts regarding onsite video production


Required Skills and Experience:

  • Demonstrable video editing skills, with a good understanding of the Adobe Creative Suite
  • Knowledge of video games, culture and technology, preferably with a journalism slant.
  • Ability to generate fresh ideas and tell stories about games and wider gaming culture.
  • Some experience or comfort with presenting on camera or delivering voice-over scripts.
  • Works well under pressure, able to produce high quality content with a short turnaround
  • Sound community understanding and engagement instincts. 


Desirable Skills and Experience:

  • Contacts in the games industry are an advantage, but not essential.
  • Able to handle location based shoots single handed (e.g. press trips)
  • Some experience in producing news, preview or how-to content, often to prompt deadlines.
