Reports to: DevOps & IT Infrastructure Manager

Summary of Role

Friday Media Group run a large number of market-leading multiple listing (classified ad) websites, recruitment websites and eCommerce businesses. Developments are undertaken both internally and through third-party relationships. Your role as Linux and Support Engineer will see you get involved with many exciting projects across the group, working across a range of current software and integrating with new technologies. Working within a team you will ensure that the IT systems and infrastructure in use across our various offices is meticulously maintained and constantly evolved. Bringing with you desire and enthusiasm, you’ll help us to improve the way we deliver operational solutions to the business and external customers, whilst learning and implementing best practice solutions related to working within a large digitally-focused business. IT Support Engineer Responsibilities

Working in a fast-moving organisation, across a range of products and markets, your role will be wide and varied. The core of the work will focus around:

  • Provide day-to-day IT support to our staff via tickets, phone and face to face

  • Troubleshoot and maintaining users Laptops, windows / Mac OSX

  • Support and maintenance of the companies IT and Telecommunications Infrastructure

  • Proactively monitoring IT / Hosting systems and platforms, and escalate to the relevant team

  • Flexibility to travel to remote office and store locations

Minimum Experience/Knowledge

  • Good working knowledge of Windows 10

  • Minimum 1 year experience in an IT/Tech Support role

  • Active Directory Knowledge and Administration

  • Good understanding of LAN/WAN topology

  • Analytically minded and enjoys problem-solving

  • Understanding of Firewalls / Port forwarding

  • Good customer service experience

  • Must hold a valid driving license and drive

Desirable Experience/ knowledge

  • Good working knowledge of Mac OSX

  • Mitel Phone System / Mitel Phone Manager

  • Knowledge of Windows Server 2016 / 2019 and AD

  • Ivanti Landesk

  • Linux administration
