About the role

We are now looking for an experienced Senior Business Analyst to join our growing team and work within Operations to set up and establish a Business Analyst function. Setting up this new team is an exciting opportunity and the individual will be accountable for setting out how the new team operates with our Customer team, Product team and Tech team with the goal of ensuring the best practice product configuration is adhered to for customers. 

A key part of the role is to understand and document the requirements for customers whilst identifying new product features that will enhance the value we deliver. You’ll also be responsible for working with teams and individuals across the business to identify inefficiencies in the current working practices and help implement new ways of working.

The core accountabilities / responsibilities

  • Line Management and Team Setup:

    • Setup and lead the Business Analyst team

    • The ability to define the ways of working and tools for the Business Analyst team

    • Can establish the new Business Analyst function and embed within the business

    • Has previous experience of line management and including the setting of personal development plans 

  • Best Practice Product Configuration:

    • Working closely with Product Managers to understand the current product capabilities and input into the initial scoping of new features 

    • Work with Customer Squads (cross functional teams) to deliver the product based on the best practice configuration blueprint as set out by the Product team

    • Leads Business Analysts to advise and support them in the product setup which best delivers value for the customer based on their requirements

  • Business Analysis / Requirements Definition:

    • Can build business cases, detailing costs and benefits, to gain approval for the project or new feature from the Leadership Team

    • Can work closely with the Customer Squads to scope work by gathering, documenting and estimating requirements 

    • Working with Customer Squads to define quarterly customer success plans

    • Can define and document functional and technical requirements unambiguously and clearly communicate these to technical and non-technical team members

  • Process Efficiency and Change Management:

    • Working closely with Project Managers and leading the Business Analysts in supporting the wider business to deliver process efficiency and improved ways of working

    • Working with the Senior Project Manager responsible for change management to help facilitate the implementation change across the business

The person we’re looking for

  • 5+ years of experience
  • Experience of leading a small team with ambitions to grow

  • Proven in working in a SaaS product environment

  • Experience of using agile and hybrid development methodologies 

  • Has the ability to influence internally to get ideas across and gain buy-in

  • Gravitas and interpersonal skills to manage internal and external relationships

  • Has an eye for detail and an inquisitive mindset and is always looking for improvements in our product and ways of working

  • Loves to work in a customer facing role

  • Loves problem solving, seeking out issues and delivering change 

  • Excellent communicator

  • Happy working with technical resources and senior management alike 

  • Desire to be part of a fast growing business with a high pace of change

  • Hands-on individual who likes to work with autonomy

Our office and remote working

We can confidently say that our sea-view office is one of Brighton’s best. However, we’re currently all working from home and we’ll be taking a cautious approach to returning to our much loved office.  

Our plan moving forward is to have a remote workforce that can work from any location in the UK, but that also have access to our Brighton office space when they choose. We believe this offers ultimate flexibility to our team, and is reflective of how people will work in future. We also recognise that this will allow us to bring in a wider range of talent to our business, which is something that we’re really excited about.

We see this flexibility as a key employee benefit and all we ask is that you come into the office for a minimum of 3 days per quarter, which will include our quarterly team get together. 

When in the office, we have flexible workspaces, which means you’re not tied to a desk, unless you want to be. You could work in a sociable spot on floor 4, or set yourself up with a screen on floor 3. This is everyone’s space and it’s available after work – our staff host everything from gaming and craft nights to adventure film screenings. However, we will of course be following strict social distancing and health & safety guidelines for as long as is advised.
