Who are we?

Difford’s Guide was founded by Simon Difford, one of the world’s most well-known voices in the cocktail and spirits industry. It is one of the world’s leading drinks websites with 1 million unique users a month, as well as a long-running series of cocktail books.

We operate in a dynamic and entrepreneurial industry, working with the world’s largest and most well-known drinks brands as well as small distilleries and start-ups. Our online shop was launched in November 2020 and is growing quickly – it sells cocktail ingredients, cocktail bundles and barware.

What’s the role?

We’re looking for a new member of the team to join us as an Intern for an initial 6 months. This is a paid position, with the possibility of being offered a full-time role at the end of the Internship. You’ll be working closely with two of the Company Directors, Simon and Paloma, and learning about all aspects of running a small online publishing and e-commerce business.

The successful candidate will provide vital support on administrative tasks, publishing content, working on client projects, reporting, stock-takes, customer service and the general running of the business.

Could it be for you?

This position will suit someone with a strong ‘can-do’ approach and willingness to be hands-on with a wide variety of tasks. From replying to customer feedback, proofing, producing a client report, publishing content, to placing orders, every day will throw up a range of different activities to get stuck into. A commitment to excellent customer and client service is essential.

Knowledge and experience of Excel, PPT / Keynote, Google Analytics is desirable, as well as strong computer skills and superb written and in-person communication.

The role will be more personally rewarding if you have an interest in the drinks industry and a desire to learn. We can offer a fantastic long-term opportunity for the right person, to grow and develop with our business.

The position is based in our office in Northiam near Rye, East Sussex.

(Due to the nature of the drinks industry this position is available to over 21 year olds.)
