Our Application Engineers are the first point of contact for Site Administrators looking for technical support, so if you enjoy investigating, solving technical issues and working with innovative technologies then our Kineo team in Brighton may be the perfect opportunity for you. This role suits either IT career progression or an industry change for those with relatable experience.
About The Role
Day-to-day you’ll be providing clients with high quality 2nd & 3rd line technical support for the Totara LMS’s we provide.
You will take a proactive approach towards the correct implementation of process and security controls, ensuring the stability and effectiveness of sites we manage. You will fulfil a key role that will help maintain Kineo as the preferred choice for global Totara hosting and support.
You’ll be joining a friendly team, working out of our Brighton HQ where we will support you to learn the skills of the role and contribute to a team where we are always striving to build on the great service we provide.
The Application Engineer role involves a wide range of technical and customer service skills and interaction with other teams, which gives employees opportunities to grow.
As an IT professional, you may be looking to move in to LMS support as a change of product or on to 2nd and 3rd line support to expand technical involvement. If you are looking to make the move into IT support as a new career and can demonstrate your passion for technology alongside transferable skills, then this may be the role for you.
In either case you will need a drive and an aptitude to learn and succeed as we pride ourselves on the first-class service we offer our customers.
You should have a passion for IT and providing excellent customer support. You'll need to be able to demonstrate sound experience of working with clients in a fast-paced environment with strong customer service focus and mentality.
You must be able to manage your time and work priorities, whilst under pressure together with a logical approach to identifying and solving technical problems.
Though not essential (as training will be given), it would be great if you already had experience working with source control such as GIT or SVN, as well as Learning Management Systems (LMSs) and Content Management Systems (CMSs). Experience in writing queries to obtain and update data within MySQL and PostgreSQL databases would be helpful as well, as would working in a support desk environment to strict SLAs.
