Red Setter is the firm that design agencies from London to New York, Amsterdam, San Francisco, and Sydney turn to when they want to grow their reputation and revenue. Based in central Brighton, our team of 18 PR specialists are the world’s leading experts in this market – and we’re looking to grow our team.
We have a clearly defined market - creative design agencies – and we know it well. We’re recognised in that market as the people to go to if you want to raise awareness, change perceptions, and support revenue or talent growth. We know how to put the right strategies together, and we know how to make them happen.
We lose few clients and win a steady stream of new ones through recommendation and referral. We have a solid client base, a stable, talented and experienced team, and a strong reputation in our market - we are now expanding and looking to offer an opportunity for someone to take their next step into their PR career and contribute to the future of our agency.
You will be joining a new team of three that we’re building, working with a group of new clients.
Topline, you’re repsonsible for the delivery of media and social media activity and results. It’s a really varied role involving a mix of media relations, client meetings, and working as a key part of the team to develop strategy, devise editorial ideas, and create content.
Probably the best way to get an idea of what this role is like is to read this Day in the Life written by one of our current team: http://redsetteragency.com/news/a-day-in-the-life-of-a-red-setter-account-executive-ruby/
We’ll work closely with you to show you how we do all this at Red Setter, to immerse you in our clients, our media and our sector, but we will be keen for you to take ownership of the role as quickly as possible. We want you to be the person your team and you clients rely on for media knowledge and coverage.
You will have experience of PR, particularly media relations, and you will be able to show us a portfolio of high quality coverage that you have directly achieved. More than anything you must thrive off the buzz of delivering brilliant media coverage to your clients.
You will have a quick, enquiring mind. We need someone who can understand our clients and the briefs they give us, someone who’s always curious to learn more.
We are an editorially-led PR agency, so we need you to be able to write well.
You will need to be organised. The role is varied and you need to keep on top of a lot of information from a wide range of sources, so you need to be able to organise it all, never miss a deadline and make sure our campaigns keep to plan .
This is a role and an agency for self-starters. We want someone who will take the initiative, who’ll get things sorted out, and who can lead their campaigns from the front.
Finally, we’re looking for people with potential and ambition. In the short term we’ll be keen to progress you to Account Manager, and in the long-term there will be opportunities to progress further. One of our three Account Directors joined us four years ago as an Account Executive, and we are an agency that believes in developing talent.
Qualities we’re looking for:
- Champion creativity
Championing creativity isn’t just a job for us, it’s a mindset and we’re dedicated to searching for – and shouting about – the stories that showcase the industry and our clients.
- Never settle
Experience can breed complacency but our constant curiosity for a changing world helps us to stay relevant and understand what’s next.
- Purpose first
Our brightest ideas are based on sound strategic insights, and our work is designed purposefully to deliver impact for our clients. Always.
- Make their day
Our level of expertise is matched only by the enthusiasm and excitement we have for our clients. We energise them to grow their brands and we love their businesses like they’re our own. We sit forward. Bring ideas. Offer counsel. Make their day. We’re their expert ally – and their secret weapon.
What we offer
Red Setter is an exciting place to work. Our clients are some of the most brilliant, successful and ambitious design agencies in the world and they come to us for advice and assistance in growing their agencies to the next level. For the right person, being part of a team of experienced, committed, and talented experts who are making that happen is a real buzz.
It’s not easy. We’re demanding, and we expect high levels of performance, but we think we also give a lot in return.
This is a full-time (9am-5pm) role based in our Brighton office. Initially it will be remote, and we will be working flexibly post-pandemic.
The annual salary is dependent on experience.
We have a company pension scheme, offer childcare vouchers, and a 25-day a year holiday allowance, plus the day off on your birthday. We love our bright, modern office in the heart of (sometimes) sunny Brighton, we have frequent social events – from after-work drinks on the beach to an annual overseas trip – Berlin in 2018, Madrid in October 2019…2020….we’re hoping we’ll be allowed one in 2021, or if not 2022 will be massive! - and there’s a fun, happy and friendly vibe in the office.
Finally, there is scope for progression here. We continue to grow steadily, and this is creating exciting opportunities for the right people throughout the agency.
