Graduate / Junior Designer
We're a small (9 of us) branding and design studio based in North Laine, Brighton, with a mix of large and small clients. We primarily work in food & drink but we’ll also regularly undertake work across the charity, health and education sectors.
We’re looking for a graduate designer, someone in the early stages of their career, or a career-changer who’s retrained, to join our hardworking, friendly and informal team. You’d help support the wider team by listening and learning, following instructions, helping with some of the 'heavy lifting' as well as the ‘finishing touches’, juggling projects and deadlines as you go. And you’d work across branding and communications, interiors (largely retail-based) and wayfinding.
You might also have your own ’thing’ to contribute to the studio. Maybe you’re hot with copy? A digital whizz who can transform our bad habits? Or a furiously meticulous typographer who sees the world in letter forms.
We’re looking for someone who can grasp the role, make it their own and surprise us. And we’d like you to stick around for a bit, eventually contributing your own great ideas with flair and enthusiasm.
The variety of work is broad and fast paced. We have some demanding and significant clients that want things yesterday, so learning to be calm under pressure is a valuable skill. It’s a great opportunity to learn a lot in a supportive, 'everyone has each other's back' environment.
• Graphic design support for a diverse range of branding and retail projects
• Idea generation, working closely with senior members of the team to produce idea sketchbooks
• Support design implementation and production of artwork
• Ad hoc research/ benchmarking/ studio inspiration
