New SaaS product / Back End Developer

Wild Dog Design is an award winning digital design agency with a deep understanding of technology, a passion for beautiful design and the experience and desire to combine the two. 

We presently have a wonderful studio space in the centre of the city. As we evolve from being a team of 10-12 occupying the space daily to more flexibility, this may evolve into a new set-up offering a flexible approach to working together and working remotely. However we will still be Brighton based and you will need to be in a position to make yourself available to attend meet-ups. 

Main Duties and areas of responsibilities

  • Leading development of our in-house SaaS product

  • Maintaining and enhancing existing back-end infrastructure

  • Providing accurate time estimates for your work

  • Basic DevOps

  • Taking part in client meetings

  • Contributing technical insight to sales pitches and proposals

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 2 years relevant experience in similar role

  • Experience working on Admin type systems

  • Experience building scalable websites and applications

  • Experience building Laravel websites and applications

  • Demonstrable experience writing OOP PHP

  • Demonstrable experience writing ES6+ JavaScript

  • Experience with Vue JS

  • Experience building & consuming RESTful APIs

  • Experience working with MySQL/MariaDB

  • Experience with Git version control

  • Experience using Development tools like NPM, Webpack, and Gulp

  • Experience using templating languages like Twig, Blade, and Nunjucks


Desired Front End Skills and Experience

  • Experience using SCSS and BEM notation

  • Experience with React JS

  • An understanding of PWA


Desired Back End Skills and Experience

  • Experience building apps with Node JS

  • Experience with Wordpress

  • Experience working with XML

  • Experience with cloud hosting like AWS

  • Server-side tech & deployment experience

    • Linux / Unix

    • Apache / Nginx

    • Security

Employment: Full Time ideally. However we might consider a term contract or part-time role applicant depending on applicant situation.
