Events Programmer

You’ll be joining PLATF9RM at an exciting time, as we evolve after the effects of the past year. We’re an ambitious company with plans to scale and there is plenty of room to grow within the business over the coming years.

We’re currently seeking an Events Programmer to have overall ownership of the PLATF9RM Events Calendar. You’ll plan and execute the events & cultural programme for PLATF9RM and our hospitality venue, The Grounds. This will involve working alongside the Marketing Manager and content team to program an enriching calendar of events for our members and the wider community.


Role & Responsibilities

Overall ownership of the PLATF9RM Events Calendar. Which includes:

  • PLATF9RM Member events
  • PLATF9RM Brand events
  • Approved partner events
  • The Grounds cultural events
  • Private Bookings

Events Management

  • Be responsible for events calendar and liaising with operational team to ensure relevant rooms are booked and staffing is available
  • Produce detailed proposals for events (including timelines, venues, suppliers, legal obligations, staffing and budgets)
  • Host all events ensuring smooth running of the day and being the face of PLATF9RM
  • Produce post-event evaluation to inform future events
  • Gather member feedback from all PLATF9RM events and communicate needs to Marketing team
  • Manage and coordinate suppliers and all event logistics (for example, staffing, catering, travel)
  • Liaise with marketing team to publicise and promote the event
  • Manage all pre-event planning including organising guest speakers
  • Make sure that insurance, legal, health and safety obligations are followed

Event Programming

  • Deliver Event Strategy, by planning and executing events that are on brand and bring value to members and wider community. This includes brand building events such as conferences, panel discussions, networking events, community events and cultural events
  • You will also be responsible for programming events that generate revenue in our hospitality venue including chef residencies and live events
  • Network with current partners and members of PLATF9RM to generate new event booking leads and opportunities. You will also leverage this community to build future event ideas
  • Be aware of the latest cultural and business trends to help inform the events programme

You’re Great At:

  • Event management (in-person and virtual/hybrid event)
  • Hosting, you’ll be the face of PLATF9RM at many of our events
  • Working independently, whilst working well within a small team 
  • Project management, you’ll work with our team to create, plan, execute our events program and work with the Marketing Manager to assist in promoting the events
  • App native: we use G Suite, Google Analytics, Slack, Zoom etc.
  • Communications skills: verbal and written communication, active listening
  • Multitasking and prioritising, you’ll manage multiple projects with realistic but quick deadlines
  • Working within busy environments and can remain calm under pressure
  • Generating revenue through ticket sales and being commercially-minded
  • Having a positive attitude towards the work of PLATF9RM and desire to Make Work Wonderful for our members

Reporting to: Creative Director

Salary: £24 - £26K per annum dependant on experience  

Working Hours: 42.5hrs per week, due to the nature of the role, evenings and weekend shifts are required

Locations: PLATF9RM Tower Point & Hove Town Hall
