Senior Marketing Executive / August 2021

The Senior Marketing Executive’s primary role is to execute high performing cost-effective multi-channel, digital, b2b marketing campaigns. They will be well organised, target-focussed, and able to manage multiple campaigns at any one time.

Their remit will cover a portfolio of brands, to include all products and services delivered within the portfolio (face-to-face including expo, and digital).

Working with a Senior Marketing Manager / Marketing Manager, they will be expected to contribute to the analysis and planning stage of the campaign work (ahead of campaign launch), typically with channel-specific projects or reports.

Once the strategic marketing objectives have been set, the Senior Marketing Executive will support a Senior Marketing Manager on the creation of a detailed, comprehensive, tactical campaign plan. This will include stage targets, and clearly marked deliverables channel by channel, week to week. It should also incorporate the relevant elements of the brand content/portfolio content plan, and highlight how these will be incorporated into phases of the tactical plan.

The Senior Marketing Executive will then be responsible for the delivery and execution of the campaign (working closely with the Senior Marketing Manager), across all channels. They will be expected to deliver the campaign in line with budget targets, and channel specific campaign targets, adhering to the timelines set out in the tactical campaign plan. They will also be expected to recommend new opportunities and fresh ideas that can be incorporated into the campaign once launched.

Creativity and a flair for marketing excellence is vital, alongside a highly analytical and methodical approach. Plus the ability to successfully manage a number of campaigns at any one time whilst keeping cool under pressure.

They will be expected to set and manage marketing budgets, track conversions, adhere to timelines and deadlines, create accurate metrics and campaign reports (including channel-specific metrics and reports).

Market knowledge will be an important part of the role (alongside their technical marketing skillset). With that in mind, they’ll be expected to keep abreast of the major developments taking place within the communities served by the brands in their portfolio.

In addition, the Senior Marketing Executive will be expected to plan and execute end-to-end campaigns - these will typically be lower budget or zero budgets campaigns for digital products and services, rather than 6-7 month expo audience acquisition campaigns. The Senior Marketing Executive will be expected to deliver these campaigns independently, as the lead marketer, but with Marketing Assistant level support where possible.

 

Key attributes and competencies

  • 2-4 years marketing experience (event marketing experience advantageous).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritise workload independently, and manage multiple campaigns at any one time.
  • Strong planning and organisation skills, including campaign administration.
  • Good all-round digital marketing skillset and know-how.
  • Track record of delivering successfully marketing campaigns and achieving targets at Marketing Executive level.
  • Good understanding of marketing metrics, including cost-per-acquisition models.
