Junior Project Manager

Toffee Hammer is an independent creative agency, working with people and organisations to share stories and inspire learning. We specialise in learning and communications, and are looking for support on a range of projects that include editorial, digital, design, animation and video production.

We have an exciting new role working as an integral part of our full time team - Junior Project Manager. You will support the effective project planning, ensuring that resource is appropriately allocated and project workflow is smooth and at all times efficient in order to meet internal and external deadlines.

This is very much a hands-on role, and a fantastic opportunity to develop a range of skills. We are a small full time team but work with a trusted ‘family’ of freelancers, meaning that there is a lot of variety and opportunities to learn. You will work across all our client and internally-initiated projects, and act as the link between our internal teams, and the client.

The role will be based in our office in Lewes, but may involve some travel and some colleagues work remotely most of the time. We have a good system in place for collaborating through Skype, so there is always support when needed.

Key responsibilities:

  • General project management (e.g. organising and checking availability of various team members, setting up meetings, office management, monitoring project communication)

  • Maintaining project paperwork, organising files.

  • Liaising between freelancers (designers, talent etc), Toffee Hammer and clients

  • Idea generation and moodboarding

  • Providing feedback on draft creative solutions prior to client review

  • Editing and proof-reading copy

  • Communicating with internal teams and external clients

Skills and Experience:

  • 2+ years experience working within a creative agency or similar environment.

  • A good knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite (Adobe Suite an advantage).

  • Good budget sense.

  • Sound organisational skills and the ability to plan and prioritise

  • Experience of the full project lifecycle

Personal attributes:

The ideal candidate will be highly organised with exceptional attention to detail and superb communication skills. At first it is likely to be a task-based role, supporting projects by working to set goals. Being able to work independently and meet deadlines is a must.

  • Passionate about your work and self motivated, with a desire to develop skills within a creative agency.

  • Problem solver, ability to use initiative and common sense

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills

  • Respect for deadlines and ability to work under pressure

  • Flexible and willing to learn new skills.
