JOB TITLE:  eCommerce Manager

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

To develop, grow and drive the eCommerce department for Green People via improved customer engagement, increased conversion rates, optimised marketing and effective promotion. To lead on the development and implementation of the eCommerce strategy and protect and grow the Green People brand online.

  • To create a five-year eCommerce strategy that meets and exceeds the financial and non-financial objectives as defined by the overall business plan
  • To oversee Green People's Amazon account management through Vendor Central
  • Ensure that all eCommerce opportunities are fully exploited by Green People and that structures and processes are in place to deliver effective online ROI
  • To establish measures for success for all digital activity to ensure that they match up to the defined objectives for the eCommerce strategy and overall business objectives

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Define and implement the UK & international strategy for the development and management of the online business for eCommerce
  • Develop short, medium and long (5 year) plans in order to achieve and exceed the defined financial and non-financial objectives
  • Ownership and management of the customer experience including design & aesthetics, UX, content, navigation, information architecture, branding/marketing, performance and functionality
  • Define and set KPI benchmarks from analytics and competitive analysis in order to provide an ongoing performance process
  • Responsible for the development and performance of the online business, working with key team members within Green People as well as third party agencies working to aggressive growth targets on an annual basis
  • Monitor competitor activity and performance in order to maintain and grow Green People’s market position
  • Manage, evolve and monitor social activity in order to improve customer engagement and ‘buzz’ around Green People
  • Ensure that the Green People brand is conveyed effectively through all online communications and is consistent, and integrates seamlessly with offline activity
  • Manage, develop and drive all promotional channels as part of the overall strategy including email, PPC, SEO and affiliates
  • Create an inbound marketing plan in order to reduce reliance on outbound marketing and improve SEO, blog and content performance
  • To implement measures to protect Green People against online security threats, site outages and reputation management issues and develop emergency plans in order to mitigate said issues
  • Create and develop online and integrated promotions and campaigns in order to generate engagement and sales
  • Attend conferences, seminars and exhibitions to provide constant updating of new technologies and strategies to ensure that the brand is continuously innovating and stays ahead of the competition
  • Manage the eCommerce team
  • Manage our Amazon account
  • Carry out any other duties that are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the role

Professional/technical qualifications:

  • Appropriate degree or technical equivalent
  • Post-grad marketing course/qualification

Experience & Job knowledge:

  • Strong business skills evidenced by a track record of effective management of eCommerce strategies
  • Experience in creating and developing strategic level plans and their subsequent implementation
  • Proven ability to generate and deliver on effective targets and objectives that fulfil the overall strategy
  • Experience of appointing and managing external agencies and consultants, including contract negotiation
  • Extensive practical experience of developing web-based initiatives to meet targets or solve relevant problems
  • Extensive experience with Amazon Vendor Central
  • Managing income and expenditure budgets
  • Strong understanding of online channels including social media, PPC, search marketing, email and online advertising
  • Understanding of direct marketing, branding and online sales techniques
  • Proven application of market analysis to drive digital strategy
  • Proven application of creative solutions to maximise return on investment
