addmustard is a full-service digital agency joining up brand, technology and marketing for our clients. We work with entrepreneurial businesses to drive awareness and growth, efficiently.  For the most part, we don’t just work with our clients on one-off projects, campaigns or channels, but we bury ourselves into their businesses and work alongside them to solve fundamental commercial and digital challenges.

Our amazingly talented team is made up of those people who do more, think more, and act more (and quite often, celebrate more…) and we are fascinated by the kind of people who get a kick out of delivering something great.

Essentially, we want to attract great people and keep them, attract great clients and keep them, and have a lot of fun along the way.

Simple, right? That’s where you come in.

About the team

The addmustard team is built from individuals who love a challenge, aren’t afraid to get their hands (and feet) dirty, and are genuine people wanting to learn, succeed and be part of something amazing. We nurture our talent, invest in their future, and support and care for every single person both professionally, and more important, personally – which is what creates a successful working environment for both our team and our clients.

We are an open, supportive group who want to achieve great things together. We’re there for each other, whether it’s been a challenging day in the office or we’re celebrating one of life’s wonderful milestones together. A bold claim, but our Glassdoor reviews back it up. We’re a small team, with strong bonds.

The role

We are looking for a meticulous and user-centric Quality Assurance Tester to build, manage and conduct thorough and efficient testing plans, ensuring every aspect of the technical developments we deliver for our clients are completed to the highest standard. Reporting into our Technical Project Manager, you’ll take responsibility for the successful completion of manual testing across a wide range of websites and apps, covering multiple devices and browsers. Not only will you need to ensure that our technology solutions are performing functionally and meeting the brief, reporting any faults, issues and bugs that are preventing this, but you’ll also work alongside our Design and Content teams to ensure that we are delivering the highest quality user experience for our clients.

You’ll need exceptional attention to detail, be brave enough to challenge team members with regards to quality and processes, have a highly diligent approach to your work, and you’ll enjoy taking ownership of work streams and issues right through to resolution. You’ll also be technically minded, perhaps with an understanding of HTML, CSS and scripting languages (although not essential), which will help you to effectively communicate issues to our team of developers for resolution.

The technology side of our agency is growing at a phenomenal rate and this new role within addmustard will provide a great opportunity for someone looking to take ownership and implement their own testing processes, as well as gaining exposure to web development, UX, and conversion rate optimisation.

Key responsibilities

  • Be a key technical communicator between our development and design teams, with the help of project managers and technical leads.
  • Carry out QA from early design through to the end of the project.
  • Write, manage and conduct manual testing plans across a variety of technology products, devices, browsers and scenarios.
  • Plan and execute the website testing from start to finish of the project life cycle.
  • Document and evaluate test results, and validate the development fixes.
  • Provide recommendations for an improved user experience based on test results.
  • Communicate and liaise with project and development teams to ensure a smooth project delivery.

Essential skills

  • 2+ years working in website testing or development related roles.
  • Strong written and verbal skills to be able to articulate and accurately describe bugs and issues.
  • An understanding of website/app testing processes and life cycles.
  • Hands-on experience conducting testing and managing the reporting, communication and resolution of issues.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a meticulous approach to work.
  • Proactive and creative problem solver.
  • Excellent communicator.

Desirable skills

  • An understanding of HTML / CSS / JavaScript and WordPress.
  • An understanding of using Chrome DevTool and Browserstack.
  • An understanding of Agile frameworks such as Scrum and Kanban.
  • Knowledge of project management tools such as Jira / Asana / Float.

Who we’re looking for

A tight-knit collaboration of minds and people is an essential part of our success.

We love people who get right to the nub of a problem and ask the questions that others are avoiding, as well as offering the solutions that have yet to be thought of. We’ve built (and are very proud of) our completely flat and integrated organisational structure – we don’t care where the good ideas come from, as long as they can be turned into something amazing and tangible. No idea is a bad idea.

So, if any of the following sound like you, it’s probably time we organised a drink and a chat.

  • You genuinely care about delivering results.
  • You’re hands on and not afraid to get stuck in.
  • You’re a passionate problem solver and dynamic.
  • You’re looking for a working environment where the whole team loves coming to work, supports each other and feels relaxed.
  • The idea of socialising with colleagues doesn’t fill you with dread.

In return for your experience, creativity and incredible mind, we’ll make sure you work with and are trained by industry experts at the forefront of digital marketing. Our senior management is open, honest and transparent which means we regularly share financial, team, and client performance with the whole agency. You can choose the hours you work and where you work from, as long as it fits with our team and clients’ requirements, and you’ll enjoy a £1,000 annual training budget, free gym membership, ride-to-work scheme and many, many social events.

We also offer unlimited holiday. Yes, it really is unlimited. And no, that wasn’t a typo.

Our full benefits include:

  • Unlimited holiday.
  • Flexi time: flexible working hours and work from home, unless you are required for an important meeting at addmustard’s central Brighton office.
  • Inclusion into our 10% annual bonus scheme (after one year with the company).
  • £1,000 annual personal training budget.
  • Pension scheme, gym membership and ride to work scheme.
  • Be part of an amazing, sociable and supportive team with far too frequent nights out/socials/Friday pizza and beers, and of course, our annual Christmas parties abroad!
