Junior Marketing Executive

Sophie’s Tech is looking for a Junior Marketing Executive to join their four-person strong creative development team, to aid in the promotion and marketing of their work in the VR/AR tech space. Whether it be through training and educational apps or implicitly through artistic projects (like bespoke VR installations or immersive AR interactions), Sophie’s Tech prides itself on innovative technology that brings brand new thinking and experiences to our clients and their customers.

At Sophie’s Tech, we encourage and support our team members in learning new skills and experimenting with new ideas from exploration into the latest techs (such as blockchain games), to new ways of communicating software projects to clients like Legoland and Sky Group as well as smaller clients like Lewes College and Hamburg University of Music and Theatre.

The Role

As Junior Marketing Executive you will oversee the establishment of our branding and marketing strategy and maintain consistency and tone of voice across all our marketing channels, including social media. You will be given significant autonomy and access to the company resources, including a budget, our digital artist for content creation and our other programmers and team members.

You will proudly take ownership of:

  • Website design, implementation, and copywriting

  • Creative design briefs and overseeing the implementation of branding and content (working closely with out graphic designer)

  • Social media profiles and ongoing community management

  • Business resources (business cards and merchandise)

  • Championing the great work that we do via all of our channels, including press writing press releases
     

You will also be expected to aid new business efforts through:

  • Regular promotional efforts on social media and ad writing/design

  • Seeking out and applying for funding

  • Establishing relationships with, and pursuing, new clients

  • Attending networking and promotional events

  • Creating and overseeing innovative marketing campaigns

  • Producing creative briefs for designers and working with developers to promote and celebrate their excellent work
     

The Requirements

This role is perfect for a graduate, with a keen interest in technology (specifically VR and AR), and somebody with an obvious passion for the industry. You will be up to date on the latest tech advancements and initiatives and will be excited at the prospect of finding new opportunities for Sophie’s Tech to grow. We will help train you in the technical knowledge required to assess and apply for funding, talk to clients and be successful at your job, though some base knowledge of the field is desirable.

The candidate will have demonstrable experience in the following areas:

  • Copywriting, copyediting, and proofing (for blogs, social media, publications or similar)

  • Creative brainstorming and ideas generation (this can be in any area)

  • Concise yet effective communication skills (both written and verbal)

  • Putting together presentations and comfortable presenting (using PowerPoint or similar software)

  • An eye for design and detail and (not essential) experience using software such as Photoshop or InDesign to create visual assets

  • A clear passion for VR and AR technology
     

This is a full-time, 30 hours a week role and will begin on an initial contract of six months with a salary of £20k (although we are open to discussions about part-time options.) The role will be predominantly remote, though we would like you to work with our Brighton-based team at least once a week.

There is a possibility to make this a permanent role dependent on business need and your ability to help us grow, with potential discretionary bonuses for any new business you secure.
