Mid-level Web Developer

Motive are searching for a talented Mid-level Web Developer to join our team.

The role

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who has a passion for creating beautiful and engaging digital experiences who takes their own initiative, but knows when to ask for guidance. We would like a candidate who would make the job their own and have a noticeable impact in a fast-growing company.

About you

You are someone who has the appetite to manage a sustainable but busy workload. You are keen to use creativity and judgement to problem solve and seek resolutions. You will want to take ownership of some projects and play an active role in the development of our digital portfolio.

The role will be responsible for building and maintaining multiple WordPress websites and supporting the Head of Digital with content updates, implementing new page designs, assisting in testing and optimising websites.

If that sounds like you and you have either:

  • A minimum 2:1 degree level qualification in a subject with a significant programming component, and/or

  • 2-4 years commercial experience in developing front end web applications: HTML5/CSS3/JavaScript(inc jQuery)

Skills and Experience

Required:

  • Strong front-end skills: HTML5, CSS3 (SASS, BEM), Javascript, and jQuery

  • Experienced in responsive web design

  • Experience with source control systems such as Git

  • A learning attitude and desire for improvement

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience developing WordPress and WooCommerce website (not drag and drop editors)

  • Experience with PHP, Hooks, Actions and Filters

  • Experience with Photoshop, Illustrator and XD or Figma

Desirable:

  • Interest in design

  • Familiarity with React/React Native

  • Experience developing with NPM or Gulp

  • Experience with other platforms such as Shopify, Kentico and Sitecore

  • Hours: Full Time after passing a 3 month contract (happy to explore other options)
  • Salary: Negotiable based on experience and position
  • Schedule: 9-5:30pm Monday to Friday
