Social & Community Engagement Manager

Project Introduction     
PIGEON connects people via 1-2-1 video chats to share or learn everyday skills. Sharers get paid for their time and Learners can discover a wide range of knowledge and tips.

The PIGEON team is a virtual team spread across the UK and EU, so virtual calls, meetings and being totally self-managed is a key part to this role.

Role Brief

Leading the Social media strategy across all channels and interacting across the PIGEON community to drive engagement and growth, this role will support the Head of Brand experience and Founder.

This is a unique opportunity to gain valuable experience in a tech startup with a dynamic working environment and flat hierarchy to shape the social media content and dialogue from the ground up, integrated into the user community to drive engagement. The right candidate will be a problem-solver, communicator, and collaborator.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Creating and Implementing Master Social Media strategy and Community engagement to align with business goals.

  • Collaborating with the Community Team and Digital agency to regularly develop and update the Master Brand guidelines.

  • Supporting the Operations and Finance team to manage the Social Media budgets and deliver against agreed KPIs.

  • Managing (researching, planning, editing and publishing) all content across the Social Media platforms.

  • Identifying with PIGEON tonality and messaging.

  • Performing research on current trends, features and influencers along with social #onestowatch.

  • Engaging with social media followers and community users, identifying with PIGEON tonality and messaging.  

  • Implementing Community onboarding processes for the PIGEON Sharers and Learners. 

  • Inputting into the innovation of the user experience of PIGEON.

Techical Expertise:

  • The ideal candidate would bring 3 years hands-on experience with a social media community.

  • Examples of shaping a social media strategy, implementing with key learnings, supporting engagement and growth.

  • Proven experience of developing KPIs and engagement/growth metrics and implementing reporting frameworks.

  • Experience of Google Analytics, social media analytics and social media tools are a must.

  • Good use of MS suite, project management tools and presentations across powerpoint or keynote.

Budget: TBD, based on a 3-day-a-week contract role to March 2023
