About the role

We are looking to appoint an interim Communications Manager to lead the day-to-day delivery of communications activity for Kent Surrey Sussex Academic Health Science Network (KSS AHSN).

We’re looking for a confident and experienced communications professional to increase the reach, impact, visibility and position of KSS AHSN, and its programmes, through the delivery of high-value and influential, offline and online communications, to internal colleagues, target audiences and stakeholders.

You will possess excellent copywriting and editing skills, the ability to manage social media channels and websites and to create engaging content for a range of channels. You should have experience using digital tools such as websites and content management systems. Furthermore, this role involves the development and delivery of plans to achieve both regional and national AHSN Network communications objectives.

By joining our organisation, you will have the chance to work autonomously on some of the most exciting and important issues in health and social care today. You will be able to develop your career by working with stakeholders at all levels and advising them on the best communications strategies to reach their objectives and audiences. To succeed, you should share KSS AHSN’s values and behaviours and be passionate about making a difference.

About KSS AHSN

As one of the 15 national Academic Health Science Networks, KSS AHSN’s aim is to transform lives through innovation. We recognise the need to connect more fully and memorably with local Integrated Care Systems and innovators ensuring our portfolio of work responds to local needs. Through our work we will promote inclusion and address inequality.

Kent Surrey Sussex AHSN (KSS AHSN) is the AHSN covering a geography which encompasses 4.7 million people within the Southeast of England. Our geography includes a large coastline, and coastal population; with affluence and poverty; with health and care challenges experienced by a growing elderly population, by international migrants, and by significant communities whose voices historically have not been heard. It’s an exciting time to join our organisation as we look to raise awareness of our work to address health inequalities, tackle net zero and spread innovation in the NHS.
