Radar One Media is launching an exciting new brand that is tracking the significant technology trends unfolding today. Across 13 digital publishing sites, we are tracking these trends from cloud computing to space tech and engaging with our readership through content and events.

We are seeking a skilled Website Designer to join our team. As a Website Designer, you will be responsible for editing the existing "Newspaper" theme on multiple websites. Your primary focus will be to enhance the visual appeal and user experience of these websites by making design modifications within the given theme templates.

The ideal candidate should have a strong eye for design, be able to work independently, and possess the ability to make informed decisions about layout and aesthetics.

Responsibilities:

• Edit and modify the "Newspaper" theme within WordPress, for 13 different websites, ensuring consistent design and branding across all platforms.
• Collaborate with the development team, content creators, and stakeholders to understand project requirements and design goals.
• Apply design changes to the existing theme templates, including but not limited to colour schemes, typography, layout adjustments, and image placement.
• Optimize websites for usability, accessibility, and responsive design, ensuring seamless functionality across different devices and screen sizes.
• Ensure that design modifications align with the overall user experience, enhancing readability, navigation, and interactivity.
• Work with the content team to integrate visual elements, graphics, and multimedia components into the website design.
• Stay up to date with design trends, industry best practices, and emerging technologies to suggest improvements and innovative solutions.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in website design, particularly within the WordPress environment and using the "Newspaper" theme or similar themes.
• Strong portfolio showcasing your previous work and demonstrating a high level of design aesthetics, creativity, and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of responsive design principles and best practices to ensure websites are mobile-friendly and optimized for different devices.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet project deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to propose design solutions independently.
• Familiarity with SEO principles and best practices is a plus.

We will consider candidates with different range of experience, attracting different levels of remuneration. We are also open to full time or part work.
