Diversity and Ability (DnA) is an award-winning disabled led social enterprise that supports neurodiverse and disabled adults, split across three core groups:

- students in higher education
- adults in the workplace
- people impacted by homelessness/ poverty

We also support businesses to be more accessible, inclusive and diverse. Our services are provided to enable individuals to reach their potential through one-to-one support and the use of inclusive technology. We look to re-frame deficit narratives around disability and learning differences to one of vibrancy, value and resilience.

Job Description:

We’re looking for a talented and enthusiastic Communications professional to showcase our work to existing and potential clients across a range of channels. You will be able to produce quality content and be bold in your storytelling that will support our values and mission.

This is a varied role and to be successful you will have experience in producing marketing and communications content, managing communications campaigns, writing stories, handling media relations and social media. You will also be confident in juggling multiple priorities and take pride in your work. You'll be able to work under your own initiative and be brimming with creative ideas about how we can create seismic shifts in the way we see and talk about disability.

With a strategic hat on, you will be responsible for coordinating communications campaigns, which will involve:

  • Managing DnA's social media channels - Facebook, Twitter, Linked In and Instagram
  • Writing newsletters
  • Writing blog articles
  • Creating marketing materials such as flyers, brochures, posters and workshop handouts

 

 
Skills Range:

Our ideal candidate should:

  • Have super strong copywriting skills
  • Have experience in using Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Canva (or similar platforms for creating graphic content)
  • Have experience in running social media accounts (Twitter, Facebook, Linked In, Instagram)
  • Have experience in shaping communications campaigns
  • Work strategically using analytics
  • Have experience in media relations and marketing
  • Possess excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Be proficient in using Google Suite- GMail, Google Calendar, Google Docs and Google Drive
 
Person Specification:

We are looking for someone who has an interest in social enterprise and disability inclusion- this is a role with meaning and purpose that needs someone who is excited by positive social change.

The successful candidate will have the ability to multitask and also have great attention to detail. They will be self-motivating, have the ability to work autonomously and show initiative.

Salary: £120 day rate
