Content Editor – HIV and sexual health - Avert

Brighton and Hove

Closing date: 28/01/2018

Avert is a UK-based organisation that has been working at the forefront of HIV education for the past 30 years. Through our award-winning educational website, other digital channels, and partnerships with local civil society organisations working in some of the hardest hit countries, we reached 10 million people last year with information, tools and resources that empowered them with knowledge to take action on HIV.

Job Description:

We are currently looking for an experienced Content Editor to join our Digital team to develop the content, reach and impact of Avert.org and our other digital channels and partnerships, in line with our ambitious new 4-year strategy.

Avert has been a charity at the forefront of the HIV response since 1986. By sharing knowledge, we empower people to protect themselves and others from infection, reduce stigma and improve HIV programmes globally. Our impartial information reaches thousands of people across the world every day and our partnership work helps to change the lives of those most in need in sub-Saharan Africa. Our information and education site, Avert.org, is the only global HIV and AIDS resource of its kind, reaching millions of people in more than 180 countries each year.

With a passion for creative communications and making information available to bring about health-related behaviour and social change, you will plan, create, edit and publish a range of written and multimedia content for Avert’s digital channels in line with our mission, content strategy, tone of voice and style guidelines. You will ensure website content is accurate and up-to-date at all times, and work with external designers and developers to create infographics, images, audio and video content that give our messages impact.
