Escape operates with two different teams, the Job Board which helps ambitious professionals find exciting jobs, and the School, where we help accelerate people’s career change and startup ideas through events, programmes and advice.

This role will be responsible for marketing for both sides of the business, for the Job board your goal will be to grow job seeker subscriptions, and for the School it will be to grow programme / event attendee numbers.

Job Description:

Your mission is simple - Help us find the most effective ways to grow our candidate user base of talented, experienced, unfulfilled professionals who want to do something different.

We’ve grown organically to date and we want to supercharge that this year. In the first six months, we’ll be looking to you to:

Figure out what our most effective marketing channels are, using clear quantitative data to support your efforts.

Make inroads into the best channels. Ideally, we'll expect to see a 3x increase in the new joiner rate.

Skills Range:
  • Copywriting skills are a MUST. We’re looking to publish 2-3 great content pieces per week.
  • Research emerging platforms. Effective marketing involves finding untapped channels – it’ll be your job to research these.
  • Ability to manage social media communities – you’ll be given tools like Buffer to help.
  • Creative thinker – find ways to promote content to relevant communities across the web.
  • Customer research – talking and listening to our customers will be a huge part of our success.
Person Specification:
  • Experience in marketing and ideally worked in the space for at least 3-5 years.
  • A strong track record in growth hacking consumer user growth.
  • Experience in both online and offline marketing channels and tactics. With a tried and tested process for implementing, testing and tracking those channels.
  • Confidence in designing and running tests, interpreting data from various sources and feeding back to the heads of both the Job Board and the School.
  • Sound awareness of the latest tools and methods in growth hacking.
  • Some experience in recruitment, online job boards or professional education is a real plus but not essential.
  • Passion for the future of work and startups is a big plus.
  • A willingness to learn (probably more important than anything else). This is a real hands-on opportunity and you’ll learn a lot, we’ll teach you new tools + tactics that you’ll be able to use.

Salary: £30k (exact level based on experience)
Attendance: Full-Time
Additional Information:

To begin with, this is a 6-month fixed term contract as we explore what marketing channels can work best for Escape, but naturally more work is likely to follow - especially if you drive astounding growth!

Ideally, we’d love someone to join us full-time Monday to Friday, but ultimately it’s more important we find the right person for the job, so we’re happy to discuss flexible options around this, including part-time and three/four days a week.
We’re a small team based in a lovely co-working space in sunny Hove, but we’re also open to this particular role being semi-remote - again, we can discuss how this looks for the right candidate.

Competitive salary based on the level of experience, full/part-time working patterns etc.

25 days per year holiday.
