Have you designed e-commerce websites from scratch?

Based in Portslade - We are a rapidly growing B2B Industrial IT company and are planning to launch a new Ecommerce website. We need someone creative to design the front-end - including everything from the homepage, to the product pages, to the checkout process itself.

Job Description:

In short - you will create and communicate amazing ideas, concepts and visual designs through Adobe Photoshop (or similar), and then turn these into functioning front-end HTML code.
The designer will be required to take ownership of the website visuals, contribute ideas and work well within the team. Great understating of modern web UI/UX patterns is a must.
With many thousands of products - it is essential the website will be easy to navigate, achieve outstanding SEO results, and effectively convert prospects to sales (CRO).
Once we are happy with the front-end design - the core of the website will be built in the Magento 2 CMS platform by an external website development team. However, the successful candidate will be responsible for the responsive/front-end design as well as liaising with the development team to ensure everything runs smoothly and is delivered on time.

 
Skills Range:

• Excellent creative visual website design skills, which you can demonstrate with a strong portfolio
• Strong understanding of responsive and cross-platform web design (i.e. Bootstrap)
• HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript/jQuery
• A commitment to user-centred design, web standards, usability, and accessibility
• Very good attention to detail ensuring quality output is met
• Good understanding of SEO

 
Person Specification:

• Experience with Content Management Systems, preferably Ecommerce focused (Magento)
• Understanding of PHP/MYSQL
• Proven UI design experience
• Adobe Creative Suite
• Project management experience
