We’re looking for a pedigree Head of Business Development to join our growing pack in Brighton.

Your Responsibilities Include:
Business Development

  • Develop and execute business development strategy and plan in line with organisation strategy and growth targets and in collaboration with marketing manager.
  • Manage all aspects of the business development lifecycle, from initial engagement to contract negotiation.
  • Proactively manage inbound and outbound lead generation activity, including effective management of new business lead generation agency.
  • Build and maintain a network of new business contacts and CRM database (with support).
  • Develop and maintain best in breed new business materials / assets – credentials, case studies, proposals and pitches.
  • End-to-end management of RFI, RFP and business winning pitch process.
  • Provide quality research to support new business meetings.

Team & People Management

  • Line management – mentor, train, inspire and motivate your team members. Provide timely and constructive feedback, support and guidance using the Dog Development process.

Partner Management

  • Manage lead generation agency and ensure they hit their monthly SLA targets.
  • Manage the agency’s professional memberships.
  • Manage any strategic partners relevant to BD.

Marketing & Events Management

  • Work with the Marketing Manager to define the marketing strategy, go-to-market and service proposition.
  • Own the agency networking calendar – attend and mobilize team to attend regular relevant events.
  • Showcase agency at key industry events – drive prospect attendee’s, ROI and leads.

Reporting & Administration

  • Lead monthly growth meetings with senior management team and account leads.
  • Financial reporting – providing accurate and timely account information to the Finance Team, including capacity planning input, budget tracking and profitability.
  • Accurate management of CRM and prospects lists.
  • Accurate pipeline forecasting.


  • Pitching in and supporting your pack with ad-hoc work as required

Skills Range:

Your Qualities:
Minimum of 5/ 6 years’ experience in a Business Development role building senior relationships with large global companies. An excellent track record in winning new business and growing revenue from existing clients

  • An outstanding communicator – written, verbal and presentation – with excellent ATD.
  • A polished, professional and charismatic individual adept in building senior relationships and networks.
  • A strategic thinker able to design business development and key account strategies and plans.
  • Goal-orientated with proven experience smashing objectives, targets and delivering on annual revenue targets.
  • Highly organised individual able to weave seamlessly between priorities.
  • A skilled negotiator with a keen commercial mindset – first-rate financial reporting and commercial pricing experience.
  • An unflappable operator and problem solver that can juggle multiple responsibilities.
  • A creative genius who can craft compelling propositions to meet client needs.
  • An inspiring leader who loves helping their team and client prospects reach their full potential.

The following more specific experience would also be valuable but not necessary:

  • Experience engaging with senior clients in B2B technology, professional and financial services organisations.
  • Experience solution / consultative-selling on behalf of marketing communications agencies or other services organisations (such as management consultancies).
  • Experience working within a small or mid-sized entrepreneurial business to engage with large customers.
