The challenge: people today want to read but CAN'T. Social media, Netflix, too much choice – reading RN is a challenge. We create products and experiences with books at their heart – updated for the context of today’s time and attention-poor consumer. We’ve launched two products so far (Books + Beer, Reading in Heels) but have BIG plans. Can we make people fall back in love with books? We're going to do exactly that.

Job Description:



You’re super smart and incredibly organised. You love to make things work. You don’t need (or want) your hand holding and you can take initiative.

You have the ability to see both projects and the brand from the short term day-to-day to the big, 'where are we going?' vision of things.

You like to ask ‘What if?’ You are not someone who deals in ‘shoulds’. You want to do a job which excites you, and where you can really see the impact you’re having on the growth of the business...



Running the business on a day-to-day basis. Suppliers, logistics, budgets, processes, contracts, data, systems - you’re the person who makes things run like clockwork. You speak Excel fluently (or Google Sheets!), know the key dates and love to keep track of a timeline.

Strategic, analytical, accurate - you have an eye for detail and love the numbers. You know the things we’ll need to have in place as we grow - you’re always one step ahead of the game. Liaising with our suppliers and warehouse, and working with logistics are both key to ensuring that our products are always on time and the best they can possibly be, with customers who are 100% happy. Excellent communication skills are also a must.

This is a position with the opportunity to create and implement systems from the ground up - and you'll have the autonomy to make it your own, with the potential to build out a team as we grow.

If you have skills in another area too, that could be a bonus - such as marketing, business development, publishing, e-commerce, content or tech, for example.



Salary? Flexible - depending on your experience. We've added numbers here because the ad requires it. Location? Our offices are in Hove (an hour from Victoria and London Bridge) but we’re happy to look at flexible working patterns - although this is a full-time position. This isn’t a company where you need to be in the office every day at 9 am - unless you want to be, of course! We want you to be able to work in a way that works for your life.
