Wired Sussex is a Brighton-based membership organisation that helps digital, media and technology companies create, innovate and grow.

We currently deliver the Digital Catapult programme for Brighton, which helps businesses take digital innovations to market more effectively. Through the programme, we assist start-ups and small, ambitious companies, helping them to innovate by providing expertise, resources and market opportunities. We explore the opportunities presented by emerging technologies and have a series of projects around 5G and immersive technologies.

We are looking for someone who can begin asap and the contract will run until 6th April 2018.

Job Description:

We currently have an exciting vacancy for an Innovation Coordinator to work on our innovation activities including Digital Catapult Centre Brighton.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a keen and enthusiastic graduate or someone who wants to start a career in innovation support. We are looking for someone who is excited by new and emerging technologies and is keen to deliver hands-on activity and play a crucial role in our exciting programmes.

 

The role will include:


Innovation Facilitation and Delivery
Support and coordinate the successful delivery of innovation activities. This could include tasks such as:

  • Researching speakers and participants for events.
  • Co-ordinating the delivery of innovation activities (e.g. workshops, hacks) including liaising with speakers, assisting with event logistics.
  • Supporting start-ups that are resident on our programme.
  • Contributing to the creation and growth of online/offline groups to support knowledge dissemination and encourage collaborative activity.
  • Arranging the logistics around innovation activities including diary management, room bookings and catering.

Communications
Deliver communications across a variety of platforms to promote innovation activity. This could include tasks such as:

  • Writing post event blogs.
  • Promoting events through social media (in twitter, facebook and LinkedIn).
  • Creating impact case studies for dissemination.
  • Sharing and cascading information and opportunities amongst stakeholders, businesses and other partners.
  • Attending 3rd party events and activities to share information about the programme.

Project Admin
Support the coordination of the administrative aspects of innovation activity. Tasks could include:

  • Arranging meetings.
  • Filing.
  • Taking minutes.
  • Compiling reports.

This is a fixed term contract which will run until 6th April 2018 with the potential to extend.

An ideal candidate will:
- be passionate about digital technologies and how they can be applied to unlock value for businesses and customers.
- be a people-person who is happy to spend time meeting and engaging new people who want to engage with our innovation activities including the Digital Catapult programme in Brighton.
- have a ‘can-do’ attitude. Working in emerging technologies can mean navigating a moving landscape and we would like a candidate who is happy to throw themselves into exploring new territories.

 
Key Area: Project Management Project Management
Salary: £18,000-£20,000 depending on experience
Attendance: Full-Time
