Job Description:

 

You will preferably have 3-4 years experience in a similar role, though a positive attitude, a curious mind and problem solving skills are just as valuable.

As a Digital Designer at StoryStream, your main responsibility will be the creation and delivery of a range of cross-platform digital assets on brand. This could be anything from responsive page layouts for the product, graphics for our website, insight reports or GUI prototypes. It involves working closely with our UX, Engineering and Marketing teams to ensure the simplicity of our approach, and the elegance of our platform is reflected in every aspect of our product offering.

If you have experience working on an existing product then we’ll be very interested to hear what you have to say. If you are currently in an agency and want to get your teeth into something much more substantial, we'll be just as excited to hear from you.

 
Skills Range:

 

You will be

  • Helping us in developing a strong GUI using our new branding, which will underpin everything that we make here at StoryStream.
  • Helping define new features within the product - how it works, what the priorities are, how everything binds together and adding the magic layer of delight on top.
  • Improving existing features. Constantly improving, constantly iterating, reacting to learnings, measuring success.
  • Working to support sprint teams, either from within the team or working ahead with the product team
  • Generating a deep understanding of all aspects of our product. There’s a lot to learn, it’ll be a fascinating journey.

 

 
Person Specification:

 

To achieve this we're looking for a creative thinker with a user-centered approach to everything they design. Comfortable working with a pencil and paper, as well as developing your ideas into prototypes and through to full designs. You'll be somebody who thrives from collaboration; with designers, with engineers, with all areas of the business.

Requirements

  • Active portfolio of work showcasing innovative design concepts and highly considered visual executions
  • 3-4 years of design experience (though if you don't have that but think you've got what it takes we'd still love to hear from you!).
  • Ability to understand detailed requirements and design user experiences that meet product needs and vision.
  • Ability to iterate on your designs and solutions efficiently and intelligently.
  • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate design processes, ideas, and solutions to the team.
  • Be willing to help teammates, share knowledge and experience with them.
  • Staying on track with emerging digital trends and culture, attending events and engaging with the wider digital creative community
  • Proven understanding of typography, layout, colour and grid structures
  • Ability to be creative within an existing brand but not be constrained by it
  • Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects)
  • Experience using Figma or Sketch (not essential)
  • Knowledge/understanding of HTML and CSS beneficial but is not essential
  • High attention to detail
  • Organisation and file management
