Job Description:

Due to our continued growth and the strength of our websites, brands and commercial partnerships, Gamer Network is looking for a talented and motivated Junior Graphic Designer to join our commercial team.

In this junior role, our team offers a rare opportunity for a designer to come in and achieve genuine development and progression while working with some of the world's most recognisable and exciting entertainment brands, licenses and IP.

For example, you will be heavily involved in the conception and realisation of video games advertising materials and bespoke branded content for our clients and media partners.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Designing brand-driven content for our family of websites, especially advertising, banners, takeovers, microsites and related commercial activity.
  • Preparing projects for technical teams to then implement, in line with your design.
  • Creating original, eye-catching and well-executed designs, to brief and strict deadlines.
  • Part of the design team, working closely with internal commercial and technical teams.

Skills Range:

Required Skills and Experience:

  • You must have an impressive portfolio that demonstrates a dynamic, varied and well rounded skill set in graphic design.
  • An interest in video games and gaming culture is vital in making creative contributions.
  • Strong knowledge of bitmap and vector design tools, especially Adobe Photoshop, but also packages such as Illustrator, InDesign or Premiere Pro.
  • Excellent communication skills - written and oral - especially in communicating ideas and creative concepts.
  • Well organised, delivering work to a brief and to a deadline, sometimes under pressure.
  • Ability to work within the confines of existing templates, while still fostering originality.
  • An appreciation for detail, finish, layout and typography.
  • General IT fluency, Adobe suite, Google suite, etc.

Desirable Skills and Experience:

  • Some skills in media other than digital graphic design, such as video editing or print material, however, this is not essential.
  • A degree or any higher education qualification in Graphic Design or similar is strongly preferred but is not essential. Your portfolio will be the main focus of our evaluation.

Person Specification:

The role would be well suited to a relatively junior graphic designer looking to gain experience, as our team offers a rare opportunity for a designer to achieve genuine development and progression while working with some of the world's most recognisable and exciting entertainment brands, licenses and IP.

Key Area: Design/Creative 27-1024.00Design/Creative
