Our team, consisting of accredited accountants, account managers, developers and designers, is based next to Preston Park in Brighton.

Job Description:

Six Month Fixed term contract : Maternity Cover

Location: Preston Park, Brighton

The Learning and Development Advisor champions the ability to develop within Crunch and ensure team members have awareness of the tools available to perform and develop their own career pathways. A pivotal ambassador of the Crunch brand, with the passion and energy needed to embed a learning culture to reflect the ethos and values of the Company as we evolve and continue to grow into a multi- product business.

Role Responsibilities:
• Liaise with key stakeholders to proactively identify business issues which would benefit from learning and development interventions and drive employee engagement.
• Support the implementation and achievement of Objectives and Key Results (OKR’s) in relation to learning and development activities for all business functions.
• Work with the HR team and in particular the Learning and Development Coordinator to identify learning solutions from all available sources including third party training providers and coaches.
• Be actively involved in a number of planned HR projects, including the implementation of a competency framework, a service programme for client facing team members and a review of mandatory training activities.
• Carry out learning needs analysis across the company to identify and prioritise development opportunities and review and update regularly.
• Keep learning and development budget spending projections up to date, track spending within the allocated budget and ensure that the approval process for budget spending is adhered to.
• Explore options for offering relevant vocational qualifications such as those accredited by the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM.)
• Take the lead with the Learning and Development Coordinator and other HR team members by shaping inspiring and effective training programmes covering a wide variety of topics, including management training, soft skills development, induction and technical training on products and services. Help the Learning and Development Coordinator to address any training content issues.
• Spend regular time in different business functions to identify challenges and quick wins for improving results or team morale, particularly in terms of progression or development.
• Maintain team member training records using the Cascade HR information system, track and evaluate the return on investment of learning against ongoing performance. Ensure that individual training contracts are completed where applicable.
• Provide insights from data on learning and development participation to the People Manager for sharing with the Senior Management Team (SMT).
• Work with all departments to ensure the successful onboarding and integration of new team members, conduct focus group sessions to seek their feedback and monitor ongoing induction training to ensure we provide a positive learning experience from the outset and probation periods are successfully completed.
• Work with local education institutions to support the progression of their students working with us in Apprenticeship and Industrial Placement programmes.
• Manage our relationship and be the point of contact with professional bodies such as AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians), ACCA (Association of Certified Chartered Accountants) and ATT (Association of Taxation Technicians) for any visits or inspections that may arise of our in-house training provision.
• Book accountancy team members on to relevant courses and exams, (AAT, ACCA and ATT) maintain records of attainment and manage study costs. Provide guidance to students in deciding the appropriate ongoing progression routes to suit their needs.
• Liaise with our tutors to provide our in house accountancy training and assessing, and act as invigilator as required for examinations. Review study options for each cohort of accountancy students.
• Help to build the reputation of Crunch for learning and development so that we are pioneers of best practice and regularly attend external networking events to gain and share ideas.


Skills Range:

Role Specific Skills and Experience:

• Achievement of or working towards a CIPD qualification is desirable.
• Previous experience in an HR generalist or specialist learning and development role at least at Coordinator or Advisor level, ideally in a professional services or technology company.
• An accredited ‘Train the Trainer’ qualification to epitomise best practice and proven experience of delivering training are prerequisites for the role.
• Interest in and knowledge of the latest external performance and learning and development trends, in particular innovations in digital learning.
• Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office, Google applications such as GMail and Docs, and HR information systems, such as Cascade or a similar cloud based HR system.
• Experience of line managing an individual or small team would be advantageous.
