Job Description:

From social media, digital marketing and PR to client relationship management and event logistics, the Marketing and Events Assistant will support the team in the organisation of our international business summits.

In this busy and varied role, you will be responsible for the following:
• Manage social media campaigns across a number of our accounts. This will include monitoring industry news, gathering internal news from the team, writing and programming content, checking campaigns on a daily basis and ensuring that campaign deliverables are on track
• Upload new content to the event websites, including blog posts, images and agenda updates
• Proof read and check all websites regularly to ensure they are accurate and up to date
• Keep up to date with SEO, analytics and tools and implement improvements where possible
• Support the Event Manager in assembling content for printed brochures and programmes, following up with speakers and sponsors by telephone where needed
• Format summit presentations in power-point and manage presentations on the day of the summit
• Manage press relations for our summits – working with journalists to secure pre-event coverage, inviting press to the events, and following up on post-event articles
• Gather data from relevant associations / competitor events to build our internal event databases
• Help to run events on the day as a key part of the event team

Skills Range:

Our ideal candidate will be bright, energetic and highly organised, with the following skills:

- Strong grasp of social media strategies within a business context, especially LinkedIn and Twitter
- Strong written communication skills - accuracy and attention to detail is a must
- Excellence in Microsoft Office - especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Knowledge of website content management systems - ideally Wordpress
- Proficiency in Canva or other image editing software
- Self-motivated and organised, with an ability to work well in a fast-paced environment

Person Specification:

This role would suit a recent graduate or someone with a few years’ work experience who is looking to move into events or marketing. This is an excellent opportunity to gain a foothold in the industry and there is great potential for progression either as an event manager, or in marketing and PR.
