Partner Engagement Manager - National Numeracy

National Numeracy is an independent charity established in 2012. Our aim is to enable everyone across the UK to be confident and competent in using numbers and data to make good decisions in daily life and at work. We are working towards our aim in three main ways:
Raising awareness about poor numeracy levels which exist in the UK, and promoting the recognition that everyone can improve.
Improving numeracy. We’ve helped nearly 150,000 people so far to check whether they have the ‘Essentials of Numeracy’, and are helping them to achieve them if they don’t.
Improving communication of numbers and data by helping organisations to use a ‘Plain Numbers’ approach, so that anyone can understand their information regardless of their numeracy level.

Job Description:

In this role you will be central to helping us deliver a major grant-funded project which will engage thousands of adult learners on a digitally-based numeracy improvement journey, with the objective of demonstrating that online learning can be effective for working adults. You will establish relationships with our partner employer organisations, and work with them to design and deliver the project within their settings and helping the project team complete and evaluate the project successfully.

Main Duties:
You will work with the wider team, external partners and the project lead to achieve the aims of the project. This will include:
• Pro-actively building and maintaining good relationships with partner organisations to further the aims of the project.
• Working closely with the comms team on partner engagement materials and methods, including digital approaches, engagement toolkits and information resources.
• Working closely with the internal project team to achieve the project outcomes and evaluation targets.
• Dealing with organisations in a way that reflects the values of National Numeracy.
• Travelling as needed in London and the South East of England to implement the project.

National Numeracy retains the right to change or assign other duties to this position as required.

Skills Range:

You will have:
• Experience of Relationship Management.
• Good organisational, interpersonal, multi-tasking, and prioritisation skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Proven skills in a broad range of software packages including Microsoft 365.
• Experience of working with marketing and comms teams to devise and develop engagement tools and resources.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Discretion and confidentiality.


Person Specification:

You will be:
• Self-motivated, pro-active and flexible in your approach.
• Able to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Numerate and recognise the importance of numeracy.

Desired skills include:

• Experience of project work.
• Experience of working in the third sector.
• An understanding of workplace learning.
