Job Description:

 

We are looking for a product ‘guru’ who will be responsible for supporting the sales team with pre-sales activities. A varied and exciting job, this is a new position with responsibility for pre-sales support, product and marketing training for our team and product marketing research.

So, how can you help?

Pre-sales support:

  • Providing detailed product and technical advice to the sales team so they can tailor their sales pitch
  • Centralising a bid library, ensuring the sales team have access to up to date proposal templates, pricing docs, feature overviews and everything else they need!
  • Be the link between sales and other internal teams, facilitating cross team working and keeping an eye on how this is working
  • Support the sales team with the completion of Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and other incoming bids and tenders and managing the bid process where necessary
  • Quality Assurance - you'll be ensuring that every proposal or quote that goes out the door represents Elucidat well and lives up to our value.
  • Providing sales support for meetings, events and presentations
  • Ensuring the sales team have prompt answers to any product or technical questions. Offering support for customer facing technical queries and tagging these, keeping the sales team up to date
  • Identifying and reporting on trends including win/loss reasons.
  • Facilitate bid/no bid decisions, you'll be providing a neutral view on whether prospective business is the right fit for us.
  • Ownership of infrastructure security queries, questionnaires as well as data security questions (GDPR), supporting client calls and updating team knowledge
Product and market training:
  • Identifying product and market knowledge gaps in the sales team (and the rest of the business) identifying and delivering scalable ways to close the knowledge gaps through onboarding and ongoing training.
  • You'll be providing product training to the sales team for new releases as well as new hires
  • You'll be providing market training for the sales team and new hires on competitors, industry and future trends
  • Create and deliver materials for the sales team and partners, presentation materials, solution briefs, FAQs, and battle cards that help drive solution adoption and create sales excitement & success
Product marketing and research:
  • Researching and ensuring the Elucidat offer is the best it can be for our Ideal Customer Profile and stays ahead of the competition - includes competitor, industry and future trends research
  • Through your pre-sales work with prospects and product marketing research, you'll be improving what we offer, suggesting and project managing updates to our:
  1. Legal offer: make recommendations for updates to Elucidat Ts and Cs in order to reduce customer bespoke contract requests
  2. Infrastructure security offer: make recommendations for updates to infrastructure security to ensure Elucidat stays ahead of the competition. (For example ISO9001, ISO27001, type of encryption used)
  3. Data security offer: put forward suggestions and project manage updates to Data security policies to ensure Elucidat stays ahead of the competition
  4. Service Level Agreement (SLA) offer: put forward suggestions to the SLA to ensure Elucidat stays ahead of the competition
  5. Elucidat ‘Product’ offer: suggest updates to the Elucidat product strategy by feeding into the Product steering group process

 

 
Skills Range:

The ideal person will have the following skills and experience:

  • A background in either a software or e-learning environment
  • Experience in a pre-sales role, supporting customers and sales teams with products
  • Proposal and Tender writing experience
  • A unique insight in how to continually improve the Product marketing ‘offer’.
  • Good listening skills
  • Ability to explain and present technical solutions;
  • Excellent relationship-building skills
  • Affinity to the sales, marketing and technology functions
  • Strong client-facing skills - meeting & presenting to clients
  • Strong commercial skills including an understanding of the sales process
  • Customer focused mindset and excellent communication skills, written & verbal
  • Experience in developing and delivering effective presentations
  • Experience managing the bid or proposal process including responding to RFI’s/RFP’s
  • Strong problem solving skills including an ability to think ‘on your feet’ when faced with challenging questions in the sales environment
  • Proven track record in a pre-sales environment within a B2B business
  • Ability to work independently and to be proactive
  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Project management experience is also an advantage
