Job Description:

Summary

The role is for a talented and experienced Digital Product Manager to join the Every1Mobile team working on the development and implementation of an innovative and scalable digital business model, currently at validation stage in Kenya and Nigeria, which builds the business capacity of low income shopkeepers and benefits their customers’ health and well-being by improvements in service delivery, product knowledge and product range.

Responsibilities

  • Driving product/service development lifecycle from concept, specification and design, to testing and implementation.
  • Ongoing development, updates, upgrades and additions to launched products to maintain and improve their market suitability.
  • Collecting and collating user feedback, market research and programme design input into ongoing product designs.
  • Recommending the nature and scope of present and future product features by reviewing product specifications and requirements, user feedback and usability testing report to suggest new product ideas and/or changes.
  • Providing information for management teams by preparing short-term and long-term product reports and analyses; answering questions and requests.
  • Liaising and supporting the Lead Product Manager, CEO, Project Management and wider team to develop commercial product partnerships and identify and implement key product integrations which align with the product business model.
  • Assessing the market competition to the company's product.
  • Creating appropriate product documentation suitable for business development, marketing comms and for internal consumption/training etc..
 
Skills Range:

 

Essential:

  • Three or more years’ experience as a Digital Product Manager working with digital and/or mobile products.
  • Proven ability to influence/instigate product strategy.
  • Experience working with multiple technical and commercial stakeholders at a senior level.
  • Experience working in a software development company using Agile development processes
  • Experience working with Programme Design, Project Management, UX Design and Development.
  • Excellent track record in user science and empathy including survey, interview, prototyping, A/B testing, analytics tools, understanding and representing different user types and their needs, synthesising user science into insight.

Desirable:

  • Experience in design and development of digital businesses across sub-Saharan Africa.
  • Knowledge of the challenges and constraints of the mobile landscape in sub-Saharan Africa including handsets, connectivity and data.
  • Understanding of, and commitment to, socio-economic inclusion in developing markets.
 
Person Specification:
  • Excellent communicator
  • Ability to work under pressure and deliver to strict deadlines.
  • Ability to brainstorm, present and iterate creative ideas to the team and clients.
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills.
  • Open to objective criticism on designs and willingness to improve upon them.
  • Willingness to travel - Will require regular travel to emerging market countries.
