Senior Developer - Plug-in Media

Brighton and Hove

Closing date: 28/02/2018

Plug-in Media is a BAFTA-winning digital media production company that delivers engaging, interactive entertainment for children and families. We blend animation, gaming and narrative with great design and first-class technical development to produce work that is visually stunning, technically groundbreaking and with great storytelling and humor at its core.

Job Description:

Plug-in Media is looking to recruit a Senior Games Developer to work in their studio in central Brighton, just by the Old Steine. We typically have a range of diverse and exciting projects across several technologies and platforms, and are looking for someone who will take an active (and highly important) role in bringing these to life alongside our small team of very skilled Developers.

Our busy studio has a positive and cheerful atmosphere, where everyone’s voice is heard. It’s true to say that while everyone here works hard, we all have a lot of fun doing it! We have regular company get-togethers, BBQs, outings and show-and-tells. Other employee benefits include: up to 25 days holiday a year, an employer-contributed company pension scheme, childcare vouchers and perhaps most importantly: a Massive Fruit Bowl.

As a Senior Developer, you’ll have great enthusiasm for the web/mobile technology industries, and experience developing with a range of associated technologies. You’ll have an excellent standard of competence using Unity, and you’ll need to become comfortable working with HTML5/Javascript game development. You’ll also have tinkered with some platform native tools using the core Android and iOS SDKs. You’ll know that today’s Developer is something of a ‘jack of all trades’ where specific tools are concerned; you might not be an expert in Java for example, but you’ll be well up for (and highly capable of) the challenge of solving a particular problem with it it, if it turns out to be necessary. We make games - the specific technology used is variable, depending on the job!

We welcome applications from Developers coming from any educational background, with a demonstrable portfolio of existing achievements in Unity development.
