Job Description:

How would you describe yourself? Dedicated? Creative? A problem-solver? Is attention to detail high on your professional priority list? Are you looking for an opportunity to branch out and work for a company eager for a fresh outlook on its development?

Jing Advanced Massage is a massage training school set in the heart of the lanes in Brighton. We’re a small company constantly coming up with big ideas to revolutionise the massage industry around the world. We are looking to expand our company website, particularly for online courses which can support reoccurring payments, memberships and subscriptions.

We are looking for a passionate WordPress Developer to join our dedicated team; this is a remote working role with regular meetings here at Jing HQ on Bond Street, Brighton.

Skills Range:

Essential key skills:

  • A Wordpress expert
  • Ability to familiarise yourself with existing code bases
  • Knowledge of Woocommerce integration
  • Good understanding of front-end technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript and jQuery
  • Ability to understand CSS changes and their ramifications to ensure consistent style across platforms and browsers
  • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools (such as Git, SVN and Mercurial)
  • Strong understanding of PHP back-end development
  • Team player with a ‘can-do’ positive attitude

Desirable skills:

  • Experience working with and integration of CRM’s such as Infusionsoft
  • Experience building user interfaces for websites and/or web applications
  • Experience designing and developing responsive design websites
  • SEO knowledge
Person Specification:

We are looking for a Brighton-based, experienced WordPress developer who will manage the current website and take on new projects to broaden its capabilities. We are not looking for problems, only solutions and ideas, so a strong understanding and interest in the latest industry trends and content management systems is a must. You will be responsible for both back-end and front-end development, including managing and implementing WordPress themes and plugins.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Designing and implementing new features and functionality – ex. A therapist directory using Google Maps
  • Managing and guiding the website’s architecture
  • Ensuring high-performance and availability at all times, and managing all technical aspects of the CMS
  • Nurturing our existing responsive design and always looking for ways to improve it

Mahatma Gandhi said, “be the change you wish to see in the world” – we firmly believe that Jing can cause change in the massage industry to help those in chronic pain on a greater level, by training more people to be great therapists, and through constant education and exploration of the human anatomy. But change starts at home; we’re ready to shake things up and explore new limits with our website and what it can achieve – are you ready to empower us to cause a stir?
