Congratulations to Code Club for picking up the ‘Best Digital Skills Product or Service’ at the recent Digital Leaders 100 awards!
Great news from Milk & Jam; following a successful KickStarter, they’ve launched a disability & accessibility focused creative agency in Eastbourne. 
Boom time at Brightwave, they’ve announced record profits for the year and are recruiting in a big way, with 7 new roles added to our website this week.  
A reason to be cheerful from Spook Studio, their Happy Startup School was featured in The Guardian, looking at why it’s important to build happiness into your workplace.
Fantastic news from Box of Frogs, they just published their 11th interactive book app ‘RavenMouse’
Great work from Award Creative, they were appointed by Merlin Entertainment to produce a series of YouTube videos, promoting their summer holiday attractions.   
We’ve fingers crossed for Brandwatch, they’ve just been shortlisted for the ‘Best PR Campaign’ at the B2B Marketing Awards.
Finally, an exciting update from IthacaAudio, who’ve launched two new websites for their visual & experimental work.

Digital Catapult Centre Brighton: News & Events
Since the launch of the Digital Catapult Centre Brighton - an R+D lab where SMEs, start-ups, large corporate, universities and others can collaborate on innovative digital projects around the themes ‘Internet of Place’ and location based data - we have been running regular taster events to look at what it does and how it might benefit your business. 

And, there are more events on the horizon offering opportunities for you to find out about the project as it develops, learn how you can get involved going forward, and tell us about the ideas and innovations that you are working on.

Imagine Brighton City Data Hackathon
18th - 21st September, at The FuseBox
Help build a better city. Join the Imagine Brighton team for a weekend exploring their massive Brighton data set and analysis tools.

The goal is to create a deep data repository about the local area, to assist citizens, organisations, and decision makers in understanding the city and making it a better place to live.

If you are a developer, data enthusiast, information designer, data artist, town planning enthusiast, or gamification researcher, this is the event for you. More information to follow.
Trends and Opportunities within the Internet of Things

Digital Exchange - an innovative approach to improving broadband
Last month saw the official launch of the Brighton Digital Exchange (BDX).
The BDX is an innovative, cooperative, model for bulk buying broadband capacity that will enable businesses to access hi-speeds at affordable rates, while tailoring their usages models. 
It’s hoped that the concept will be expanded beyond New England House to other parts of the city.
If you’re interested in learning how your business can benefit, or want to know more about how the BDX will stimulate digital, creative and tech. sectors in our region then come along to this introductory event.

Update on Brighton Digital Festival 2015
1st – 30th September
We are now just three weeks away from Brighton Digital Festival 2015, a month-long celebration of everything connected with digital culture!

With over 150 events already scheduled and more still in the pipeline, the Festival will bring together the city’s arts and digital communities. There is a rich programme of events taking place. New digital art exhibitions, performances, conferences, hackerthons, meet-ups, workshops and outdoor events,
what do you fancy?

Ever wondered what goes on behind-the-scenes at Brighton’s most innovative and creative companies?
CDIT Open Studios 2015 offers you the chance to take a look at some of the biggest & best digital, media & technology companies; they’ll be opening their doors to show you what they do, where they do it and how.
From talks and workshops to drop-in advice sessions and parties; there’s something for everyone and it’s all free to attend!

Latest short-term work & project opportunities
A significant benefit of Wired Sussex membership is getting to hear about the latest fixed-term and project work opportunities within the sector, either by networking with other members or by accessing our exclusive projects board.

Anyone - from local boutiques to multinational agencies - can post project details on the board so the projects range greatly, with everything from product photography to e-Commerce platforms builds. However, what they all have in common is a need for digital and media experts. To access the details of each project you must be a Wired Sussex member.
