Destination Brighton - UKTI Inward Investment Tour
The UKTI Inward Investment Tour hit the Brighton shores last month with representatives and sector specialists visiting from all across the world to find out more about our brilliant digital, media & technology hub.
Wired Sussex was on hand to help organise the two day visit and show them around the city. It was a fantastic opportunity to raise Brighton’s profile as a place where creative businesses from overseas can establish themselves in the UK. Check out Laura’s blog post

Funding opportunities for digital businesses
One of the benefits of Wired Sussex membership is getting to hear about the latest funding opportunities within the sector either by networking with other members or through our monthly funding letter.- N.B. if you haven’t already you can sign up to receive our funding letter via your WS account page!
Here are a few of the latest:
- have launched a contest to help with the development of digital prototypes that will encourage innovation and digital inclusion.
There are three challenges you can apply for and each offers up to £48,000 in funding
Digital Makers (Open Call)
– is looking to support companies that have the ability to engage thousands of young people in digital making activities, helping them to create rather than consume digital technology.
Grants of between £20,000 and £50,000 available.
The Development Fund
- is open to individual writers, writer/directors and/or producers for the development of feature films, including animation and documentary. Funding will range between £2,500 to £25,000.
