INTERFACE - A Digital Networking Event, Tuesday 29th Jan, Komedia
This is a fantastic opportunity to network and build links with some of the most successful arts and cultural organisations in the UK, including: Shakespeare’s Globe, Tate, The Barbican, The National Theatre, The Royal Albert Hall, Imperial War Museum, The Unicorn Theatre, Penguin Books, The V & A and Rambert Dance Company.
They will all be heading to Brighton for this one-off event to meet local, innovative digital businesses. The day will include a panel discussion and bespoke 1-2-1 meetings where companies can pitch their ideas and business, as well as a more informal networking session.
The event is free to Wired Sussex members, but places are by application only.

At the next ConnectedTV Brighton event, we’ll be Untangling the Wires
with Nigel Walley
, Managing Director of the media strategy consultancy, Decipher.
At the forefront of the growing TV revolution, Nigel heads up their work in television advertising, with a particular focus on the evolution of commercial advertising models and how media markets are affected by new consumer technology. He will be discussing the challenges and opportunities created by this new environment.
We’ll also be hearing from Relentless Software
who will be talking about their new project, Blue Toad Murder Files;
a co-operative video game that will soon be available for download on Smart TV, PS3 and PC.

Newsflash - We’ve just confirmed that we’ll be holding our 2nd
Wired Sussex members DJ competition and fundraiser based on the huge success of last year’s charity event (go on, revisit those video highlights
!). This year promises to be another great Wired Sussex social where members can give DJing a go, ‘Stick it On
’ and battle it out for the prestigious title of ‘Best DJ’ and maybe even steal Propellernet’s reigning crown?
It’ll be held on Saturday 23rd
February at Sticky Mike’s Frog Bar (details/tickets to be confirmed) and this time we’re inviting you to vote on which 3 local charities you would like the money to go towards. Please take a second to complete our charity poll

Funding opportunities for digital businesses
One of the benefits of Wired Sussex membership is getting to hear about the latest funding opportunities within the sector either by networking with other members or through our monthly funding letter.- N.B. if you haven’t already you can sign up to receive our funding letter via your WS account page!
Here are a couple of the latest:
Digital R&D Fund
- are looking to support research and development projects that use digital technology to enhance arts' audience reach and/or explore new business models.
The fund will focus on the following key themes: user generated content and social media, digital distribution and exhibition, mobile location and games, data and archives, resources and education and learning. £125,000 available in funding.
Interactive Projects Development
- is a funding scheme aimed at companies that have already produced at least one interactive project. Grants of €10,000 - €150,000 available.
