Congratulations to Make Real who, in collaboration with The Old Market, have been selected to receive prototype funding for a multi-user, audience-driven, narrative VR and AR experience.
Looking forward to seeing what’s next for Mnemoscene‘s popular immersive mixed reality project ‘Nomad’, which has been chosen to be further developed as part of Nesta’s Amplified programme.
Great work from Mojeek who have launched ‘The Search Engine Map’, a data visualisation tool to show the types of search engines, their differences and what they offer.
We were thrilled to see the release of ‘Wonderland X’, a VR 180 series produced by Sarah Ticho, Founder and CEO of Hatsumi, in collaboration with local filmmaker and writer Kate Stokes, exploring mental wellbeing and our perception of reality.
Strengthening their team, DataJavelin welcomed local technology entrepreneur Colin Hayhurst as Chief Commercial Officer, contributing his extensive commercial experience to help clients unlock their potential through machine learning.
We heard an exciting update from Ixxy and Root Interactive whose collaborative historical VR piece ‘Warbells’ has been running for three months at Austria’s Vorarlberg Museum with over 16,000 visitors in that time. It’s also been rolled out at other museums in the country.
Following a rebrand and their move to a new home in Chichester, LEAP have launched a new website to showcase their creative and digital work for regional, national and international clients.
And finally, it’s always great to see many of our members recognised for their work! UnitedUs scooped four European branding awards for their work in transforming the identity and creative strategy of some major brands, No Pork Pies won Best Use of Marketing – SME on the back of a hugely successful campaign for GEM Motoring Assist, iCrossing picked up Most Effect Use of Data for their work with Virgin Experience Days, Customer Thermometer who received a Queen’s Award for Enterprise, and Future Visual was one of three winners in the Great British Entrepreneur Challenge 2019.

Talent Fest 2019: A skills festival for the digital sector
Talent Fest 2019 is our three-day festival to help digital businesses attract, train and retain the talent they need to thrive. Running from the 18th – 20th June, the festival consists of a Jobs Fair, Skills Summit and Portfolio Clinic.
It offers plenty of opportunity for both companies and individuals to get involved and benefit, so check out what’s coming up:
Tuesday 18th June, 11am – 4pm at The Clarendon Centre
Showcasing the best digital, media and tech companies and job opportunities from across the region, the first day of the festival aims to help job seekers learn about different pathways into the industry and to meet companies that are recruiting.
If you’re a business, taking part in the Jobs Fair gives you the chance to meet eager talent and promote your business throughout the South East as a great company to work for.
