In addition to our survey, we’re also planning a series of ‘beer & pizza’ sessions where we’ll be inviting members along to share ideas about how we can improve the website. We’re putting together dates for these sessions now, but do drop us an email if you’re interested in taking part.

Our Big Xmas Meetup
Brighton Members Meetup, 1st Dec, at Alfrecso.
We’d like to invite all our members to share some festive cheer at the Christmas Members Meetup.

If you've not been before they offer a great opportunity to network with others working in the digital, media and technology sector. So why not come along and share your latest news, learn about potential joint working opportunities or just have a chat with other like-minded folk. It's all pretty informal!

Also, seeing as it's almost Christmas there will be seasonal tunes, festive decorations and dodgy jumpers a plenty! And we ho-ho-hope you get in the spirit of things and come to celebrate what has been a fantastic year for the digital cluster here in Brighton!

The event is free to our members and all employees of member companies, but be sure to register now for a ticket so you don’t miss out.

Developing new digital products or services?
Focusing on collaborative R+D, the Digital Catapult Centre Brighton is designed to help fast-track new and innovative digital products and services to market.

The project has four key strands: location based data, 5G connectivity, retail innovation and Gatwick Airport.
If you’d like to know how this project can generate opportunities to grow your business, then The Digital Business Breakfast Drop-ins are perfect for you.

Come to these fortnightly breakfast events, to learn about engaging with and benefiting from the Brighton Catapult, and talk to the team about any questions or ideas you may have. At our upcoming Drop-In, we’ll be joined by representatives from the University of Brighton to hear why they’re involved, and discuss opportunities for collaboration.

It’s taking place on the 6th November and you can sign up for a place here.

You can also keep up to date with all the activities surrounding the Digital Catapult Centre Brighton by signing up to the mailing list here.

Gaming and Gamification: European Funding Opportunities for the Creative and digital Industries. 24th November, 4:30-7pm at the Fusebox
Is your business focused on gaming and gamification? Do you want to explore the upcoming funding opportunities in this field?
We have teamed up with the Knowledge Transfer Network to hold an event for Wired Sussex Members to find out about funding opportunities available through the ICT H2020 Workplan, focusing on ICT24 Gaming and Gamification.

As well as a keynote speaker from the gaming sector, there’ll be information on the various funding opportunities available in Europe and advice on what type of funding is most beneficial for entrepreneurs and your growing venture. Representatives from the KTN will be on hand to offer advice on the application process.

So, if you work in the gaming and gamification space, this is an event not to miss. It’s free to attend but please sign-up in advance to secure your place.

Confused by employment law?
Are you responsible for sorting the staffing issues at your company? Then come along to our HR Round Table event where we will be helping members, who don’t have a formal HR manager, with their employment law queries.
The event will begin with an overview of employment law for start-ups and businesses, before opening into a roundtable discussion. We’ve invited a panel of experts who will be on hand to offer advice and support.

So if you want to grow your team, and create a working culture where you retain and nurture talent, this is the event for you.

Recruiting over the festive season?
If you are looking to take on new talent in December, get in touch for a chance to be included in our promotional Advent Calendar. We’ll be featuring a job listing a day in the countdown to Christmas. There is no extra charge, but places are limited, so it’s first come, first served.

Latest short-term work & project opportunities
A significant benefit of Wired Sussex membership is getting to hear about the latest fixed-term and project work opportunities within the sector, either by networking with other members or by accessing our exclusive projects board.

Anyone - from local boutiques to multinational agencies - can post project details on the board so the projects range greatly, with everything from product photography to e-Commerce platforms builds. However, what they all have in common is a need for digital and media experts. To access the details of each project you must be a Wired Sussex member.

Here’s a couple of the latest: Don’t forget you can add your own Project to our board free of charge!
