The Digital Roundup

Loads of great news from our members this month, and the first shout-out goes to Brandwatch; they’ve announced a merger with AI-powered customer insights company Crimson Hexagon, bringing the power of both platforms together.
Helping improve workplace opportunities for young people; SiteVisibility have joined forces with Career Ready, providing them with Paid Search services free of charge to boost social mobility.
Exciting times for FUTRLI; they’ve secured a massive £4m in venture capital funding, helping them innovate and evolve their forecasting and reporting platform for small businesses.
A big congratulations to LEO Learning who have been named one of the top 20 gamification companies by Training Industry. They’re also coming up to their third annual survey, which measures the business impact of learning and development, and are looking for organisations to take part.
Featuring their most recent projects, animation studio Persistent Peril released their wonderful new 2018 Showreel.
In other animation news, Buff Motion revealed another fantastic project with UK charity Anthony Nolan, helping to raise stem cell awareness and the importance of donating to help tackle blood cancer.
Congrats to Freedom Works who, following their successful co-working spaces in Worthing and Hove, are opening a new space in Chichester.
High-five to Terrier Marketing who have launched a new website for professional speaker Harry Sherrard.
Make Real published their third 360° VR film with local charity Stay Up Late/Gig Buddies to help empower those with learning disabilities to have the social confidence to attend events, with the next film expected to come out later this month.
A great initiative by Make Good Trouble productions; they’ve launched Brighton5, a crowdfunder to help teenage mental health issues.
Award season is upon us and it’s great to see so many of our members commended for their work and achievements, including Fresh Egg, Pragmatic, Clearleft and Strawberrysoup who were recognised at last month’s Wirehive 100, an award that celebrates digital talent in the South.
And good luck to all our members who have been shortlisted for various upcoming industry awards, including: Tilt and Elucidat for the The Drum Content Awards, Hyve Managed Hosting for the SVC Awards, No Pork Pies for the UK Search Awards alongside Propellernet and RocketMill, and Search Seven, Mindlab, Legal & General, The Student Room Group, MyPocketSkill, Brightec, Dotsquares and Crunch for the Sussex Business Awards.

Wired Sussex Members’ Christmas Meetup

With the nights drawing in and a chill in the air, we’ve got to admit we’re really looking forward to our Members’ Christmas Meetup! As our last big event of 2018, we would love to see you all for some drinks, festive fun, seasonal tunes, mince pies and pizza (courtesy of our kind sponsors Fastnet).
