Wired Sussex: Digital Newsround
The board of Wired Sussex play a vital but often unsung role in helping us to help you. So it is with a tsunami of gratitude that we bid adieu to Arjo Ghosh and Tracy Capaldi-Drewitt as they leave the Wired Sussex board and thank them for the massive amount of hard work that they have both put into supporting the digital sector locally. Arjo, as many people know, started one of the first Brighton search agencies, Spannerworks and then managed its sale to US agency iCrossing. Tracy recently left that bastion of Brighton's e-learning sector Epic for the bright lights, big city. We also welcome Paul Doleman CEO of iCrossing Europe and Helen Wilshaw, Commercial Director of Epic to the Wired Sussex board in their place.

We also want to bid fond farwewells to Andy Keetch as he leaves the Wired Sussex team for iCrossing. Yes the big man has left the building! Good luck Andy and we will miss you.

Congrats to Cogapp, who aside from completing their interactive project at the Tate Modern this month were also officially designated 'One to Watch' by the NMA in their 2010 list of Top Interactive Agencies AND featured in Design Week's Interaction Top Ten. Clearleft also made the headlines this month with its successful launch of Channel 4's website.

What next for digital in the UK?

event image Last month saw the publication by the Council for Industry and Higher Education (CIHE) of the high-profile Fuse Report, which highlights the reliance of future economic prosperity upon the growth of Creative, Digital and Information Technology businesses. The report highlights the strength of the digital media sector in Brighton but urges the government to acknowledge CDIT industries and education as a strategic priority, and calls for a radical overhaul of the IT curriculum in schools and throughout further education. Find out out more on the report and its recommendations.
