This month, we’re starting out with some awesome acquisition news. Movem, an innovative tenant referencing platform, has been acquired by Barbon Insurance Group and The TrailerFarm, who create trailers for games, has been picked up by Keywords Studios. A big congrats to you both!
High-five to Pragmatic; they were named one of the UK’s most inspirational independent agencies by The Drum.
Very exciting times for Learning People and SkillsFox; they’ve received a £2.5mil investment to fund the companies’ geographical expansion and services. They also appointed senior advisor Tony Glass to their Advisory Board, providing day-to-day counsel to both businesses.
Exploring the similarities between African wildcats and domesticated pet cats, Persistent Peril animated an educational mini-series for Cats Protection.
Amazing news from our FuseBox resident Bluedotaug; they’ve been awarded a grant from Innovate UK to help them develop their platform providing immersive visualisation of complex noise data.

We love this new interactive guide by Curate Labs & Magazine. Their ‘Wander Through Copenhagen’ website includes a cherry-picked selection of places to visit in the capital.
Highlighting some of the hazards of working at height, Make Real launched a series of VR experiences for Vodafone.
Artillery recently completed the brand look, including the open titles and graphics, for a VR experience with David Attenborough at the Natural History Museum. Nice one!

5G On Sea: the 5G Brighton testbed launches
Last week, together with partners Coast to Capital LEP, Digital Catapult and University of Brighton, we launched the UK’s latest and fastest 5G testbed. Based at our home and collaborative R&D space, The FuseBox, the 5G Brighton testbed allows local digital, media and tech businesses to test and explore their ideas, products and services on this incredibly fast, very stable, low latency mobile technology before its UK roll-out in 2020.

Tips to help you write gender-neutral job ads
Without even realising it, we regularly use language that’s subtly gender-coded, and this is no exception when it comes to writing job adverts. It can affect how people perceive your company and could lead to you missing out on top talent as a result, with people less likely to apply to job ads that favour another gender.
Here are some tips and tools you can use to help avoid gender bias when putting together your next job advert.
